That was in regard to his comment on being late on a read, when you have the velocity you can be a little late...go check out Josh Allen and Mahomes.

FWIW Does anyone truly think his throwing mechanics are a finished product at 21 with one full season of college football? Kid seems like a workaholic on everything QB, so I imagine he will put the time into it in the off season.

He's a pup and people need to understand this.

Can we stop with the whole "pup" stuff. Trevor Lawrence is also 21. The other rookie QB's are a year older than him, its not like they're 27. He's the one who chose to leave college after just a single season. The 49ers chose to draft him after he only played a single season in college. He's going to have to perform like any other QB that was drafted with a massive investment by the team drafting them is expected to perform.

He's going to get some leeway but there's a point in time in the not so distant future where he simply will be expected to just get it done. He's an NFL QB now, not some dude finding himself on a sabbatical in between finishing his bachelor's and starting his postgraduate education.
The above videos are auto-populated by an affiliate.
The way he kept escaping the pocket was enough for me and he is FAST that must have been eye popping for the Seattle D.

Sucks Jimmy got hurt, but I can see and certainly hope Lance does well.
Baby Shark.

Phoenix, in the other QBs thread we have plenty of posters attempting to excuse his play because he has less than 3 seasons of starting experience in the NFL, in spite of him being in the league for 8 seasons.

And you make this post after our 21 year old rookie has had 30 total snaps in the NFL? Cmon now. SMH.
He might be able to tighten up that throw but this isn't the time to do it. And, it's not that bad to begin with. And it is unfair to compare it to Jimmy's release, which is one of the quickest in the league. Lance is also taller and longer so his release will naturally look a little slower, even if it isn't. Similar to a 5'4" dancer compared to a 5'10" dancer. Here is something that could help with his release that has nothing to do with his arm.

1. There's a lot of up and down movement with his legs when he either throws or begins to escape his pocket. But who knows, this is something that is comfortable for him that helps his rhythm. Brady does this as well.
2. He does an over exaggeration patting of the ball. Again, this is something every QB does.

He will be fine...just needs more experience so that he can get comfortable sooner rather than later.
Very odd crouch mechanics here...

My point is, his age is not going to be an excuse. The moment the 49ers used three first rounders to move up for a QB, whatever QB they picked was going to be saddled with high expectations. When you invest that much in a QB, you expect a certain level of performance, maybe not at first but definitely sooner rather than later. If a year from now he's struggling to perform at a level comparable to guys like Wilson and Fields, no one is going to be trying to hear that "its okay, be patient, he's only 22 and those guys are 23!"

It think this has more to do with him preparing himself to run just in case he has to. But he does have a lot of up and down movement.

Tin foil hat theory. Jimmy is not hurt.

There is probably truth to this since history shows he has rarely gotten hurt in the past.

lmao
If this dude can beat the Cardinals on the road then I'd keep him as the starter the rest of the season

And my point is you aren't being consistent as I have yet to see you try to argue this in the other thread. Sure, age can't be an excuse forever. But lack of experience is STILL being used as an excuse in the other thread. It's ridiculous that you are attempting to make this point after 30 career snaps. Yeah we invested a lot in him. We invested a lot in our other QB too, and the excuses are still flowing in his 8th year in the league.

We all want Trey to be great. Calling out posters for talking about his age after playing half of a game is pretty silly.

It's absolutely something he needs to tighten up on. And he will.

It is but having a long wind up just makes it easier to time their jumps (in the passing lanes). And we still aren't good at that either.
