Good god, that Cousins BS has to stop. I don't want to believe that KS wants a Cousins, he is above average at best, even with KS as OC he wasn't even close to a very good QB. Why should Kyle want that kind of talent? I don't get the logic behind that.
Once a century, the media perhaps should think about the following alternative: Kyle can work with any kind of QB. Put it differently, he won't b***h around, kind of "my QB or the highway" but rather will work with the material he gets (more or less, think Hoyer vs Jimmy G). However, if he has the opportunity to get his guy, he won't draft a Cousins, but rather a guy with way more talent.

Just my two cents.

At some point, media members like Daniel Jeremiah, Mel Kiper, and of course Dan Orlovosky who are basically just selling lies even after the truth comes out NEED TO BE FIRED. I got more quality info about the whole process from random youtube fans. It's crazy how little these ppl getting paid millions of dollars actually know about the sport. It's sad that all it takes to get these jobs is looks and connections.

Chris Simms needs to be fired also dude is pathetic at this point. Shanahan said he was too lazy to work as a coach/GM while on pats staff so quit. Makes sense why that big time QB bust is making up lies on his garbage podcast/show or whatever he has to keep 49er haters still interested. Btw he isn't that accurate on his predictions as some of his rankings are horrible (had stidham ranked high who is god awful, etc) but ppl just cherry pick his good ones. I'm sure if you go back you will see some awful predictions on him.

Respect for dudes that are actually good and think through things even if its not always accurate (Middlekauf and Haberman who had lance the whole time and stated Shanahan wanted a more dynamic player).

Eisen had sources saying it might have been Lance all along so he was most accurate (even though a lot were Mac too). Pat Macfree had a real source too that revealed it wasn't Mac the day of the draft and actually caused a huge shift in the betting markets.
The thing for doubters is it isn't just Trey...it is Kyle PLUS Trey. Kyle finally has his own pick for Qb, and that's the difference....probably not this yr but hopefully 2022. This was a great pick talentwise and looking down the road. $25 mil/yr vs $5mil//yr for 5 yrs makes signing our guys like Bosa, Fred, etc doable next yr now, assuming Trey is ready by then. Also, he is our true backup this yr if jimmy gets unlucky with injury.

Process of elimination:

Mack was a good pick at #12. Once we moved to #3, tho, not so much. He did go at 15, to QB hungry NE.

Fields was terrific talent, smart, but one ding...health...epilepsy. If we signed him and he got dinged in the helmet and his epilepsy went south....after all our medical last 6 yrs and esp last yr....that would have been an inexcusable pick. And I'm still not sure there ever was a neurologist specializing in epilepsy who gave him the green lite for NFL . If he gets helmeted and epilepsy goes bad...that would be just awful for him...and the team that took him. For me this was the no no that we couldn't ignore.

That left Trey, who is green as grass with 4 yrs high school football and 1 yr at NDSU a 1A or whatever small school. The talent and brain is there. There is a steep learning curve but if he truly has a photographic memory, well, it may take less time. Meantime with JG here we are golden. This was truly planning ahead with JG here to make the run for the SB. Once the trade was made, the logic of it leads to Trey.

i was set to settle for whoever they chose, and had no pick. But this couldn't have worked out better esp with Aaron Banks and Jay Moore. Mack, big Trent, and we are good to go.

Process of elimination. It couldn't have been otherwise, once we moved from #12 to #3.

Lance is going to be a superstar and run this league. Think about the coverage Mahomes...now think of it x10 once Lance starts cooking. He is a marketer's dream and media always looking for the next biggest best thing (look for some favorable calls for once).

League is ours boys enjoy it!

Going to be ridiculous. Defenses are going to have to almost sell out against the run in the first quarter.🤣🤣🤣🤣. Then oh, let's turn on a dime to what will be one of the most devastating passing games in the NFL. Very possibly the most devastating.🤣🤣🤣. Seriously we're gonna be like 100 percent on third and 1-2. We'll pull out the fullback Trey play🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hes not ready. Hes played 1 season of football against second rate competition, and hasn't played in a year. His job right now is to learn. If he plays too early he wont have success, which can affect his confidence. Jimmy is perfectly fine in the time being.

jimmy's gonna stay healthy this yr and not only just take us to , but win the SB. Unfortunately it will be harder than last time because KC just totally redid their OL with studs. Unh oh. I will still take us in the SB. If jimmy gets dinged, then Lance just starts earlier...but steep learning curve. A guy with a photographic memory playing football is one in a million combination. If Lance has to go in, then i expect he probably will be ready, but Jimmy needs to get us most of the way there first.

Gonna be interesting how Trey gets all the special attn to bring him up to the entire kyle playbook, made a lot bigger now once lance is ready. How does kyle take extra time with Lance and still be OCing and HCing ? That will be fascinating to see. I suspect in must win games, if it is late 4th qtr and on the 3 yard line down 5 pts, that we could see lance on a boot, ROP, whatever. But i dont' expect much of that.

I am still a jimmyG fan, but acknowledge that this was the best move for the team. And $$$ as AB and others have explained, the new math in NFL is hire a stud Qb in draft at $5mil and save $20 mil to $30 mil/yr for 5 yrs, otherwise spent on your FR QB 1. That savings , of course , goes into signing your Bosa, Fred, etc.....and that is the saving every one of those 5 yrs.(excluding this one of course)

Eh, I don't see it that way. Different styles, IMHO. I saw Zack Wilson as the guy more like Mahomes.

Josh Allen comparison seems spot on.

Yes I think so. That's what I'm hoping for and thinking. If Allen can take that Bills roster which is very good one to the AFC title game, just think what our guy will do with this coaching and roster
I know it's probably better for him to sit this entire year, but sucks that he didn't play all of last year outside of one game I think... kind of crazy that he may sit out two years basically. Concerns me a bit tbh

That's why I'm hoping there will be a preseason this year. The kid needs experience in live fire action. You can only simulate so much in practice, especially if we have another reduced offseason with no OTA's

I definitely hope he plays a lot during preseason

Yup... how many preseason games will we have this year? I think less because of the 17 games?
I think the over/under is 5 games. 5 games for 1) Jimmy injury, 2) Jimmy struggles, or 3) Lance actually presents a better chance to win.

Makes more sense to me than Mahomes.

Trey is more athletic.Definitely. Mahommes does not have a fast top end and isn't built to run over people.🔥💥

No, I mean that Trey doesn't play anything like Mahomes. That is, he's not any kind of Mahomes, more athletic or otherwise. Mahomes is like your common Brett Favre, who will throw the ball where he wants regardless of scheme. I feel like Lance is more like an Elway or Young. Especially the latter, in that he usually plays within the scheme when passing, but he'll take off regularly too.

This was exactly it with Fields. Kyle and John both talked about how injuries have derailed us and medical history played a major factor into their decision making.
