This fool isn't becoming available. And even if he was, the niners would "kick the tires". I would 3 first round picks in a heart beat. That is 3 less draft picks for Lynch to blunder. Plus, Watson is fast as hell so he can avoid free rushers on Mcb***hny's side.

Goodell will block the trade

I'd be willing to give up 2 #1's for him, and maybe a few other lower picks thrown in. He'd be the QB here for up to 10-15 years.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have him, but the reality is youre being dealt two blows:
1. Cap Hit - Hes extremely expensive, and your essentially taking away from the rest of the roster.
2. Drat Capital - If you have an expensive QB you need to supplement with players around him. You cant do it with FAs because your dont have anymore money, You cant do it w ith rookies because you dont have any more draft picks.
Its just not practical. Now, if he wants to win and is willing to restructure to a team friendly deal...then maybe, just maybe.

Cap hit isn't a issue. His hit is $15.9 in 2021 and $40M in 2022...if they restructure Jimmy those numbers are gonna be damn near the same in 2021/2022.
They can also restructure Watson's contract in 2022...which is what you do when you have a young stud QB. Cap will be going up a ton with new TV deals in 2022. Money isn't a problem if you plan on having him for a long time.
They're not giving them every single draft pick over the next 3 yrs...

If we give up the farm for him, it will be a big mistake. I want a top QB as much as anyone, but mortgaging the future and possibly the present for one player would be reckless

Per @AlbertBreer, Deshaun Watson advocated for Eric Bieniemy. The Texans refused to even interview him. ✌️https://t.co/h8BF9T5Ecz

It would make SF a super bowl contender. Shan't you, Watson, kittle, Aiyuk, Wilson/Mostert, deebo...that's scoring some points my man.

You guys need to stop using the cap as an excuse to not make a move like this.
2021: $10M (cutting/trading Jimmy saves $24M)
2022: $35M (cutting/trading Jimmy saves $27M)
2023: $37M
2024: $35M
2025: $32M
So basically, we would actually SAVE $14M towards the 2021 cap, more than the extra $8M we'd have to pay Watson in 2022.
Then come 2023, Jimmy would probably cost $30M a year or so, since 10 QB's already make that much now. So you're talking only an extra $14M over three years for Watson, maximum.
There are many reasons this probably won't happen, but please stop using "my cap space!!!" as an excuse. You're basically nickel and diming it at that point because over the five-year period you're talking maybe an extra $10M at the very most we would have to pay Watson instead of Jimmy. That's not going to be the difference between keeping/losing Trent Williams, Warner, etc.
I can SORT OF get wanting to draft a QB instead of trading for Watson because that would be vastly cheaper. But if your one reason to keep Jimmy instead of trading for Watson is "THE SALARY CAP!!!" then you have no idea what you're talking about. They're practically going to be the same price between now and 2025. It's 2026 and beyond when there will be a major price gap between the two, but that's like 60 years away in football years. We don't even have anyone signed for that season.
Watson's contract is somewhat tradable. It would only accelerate a further $5m onto the cap. Additionally, the team acquiring him would only have to take $10m this year, $35m in 22 and $37m in 23. Those are not terrible numbers if the cap rebounds a little in 2022@benrolfe15

I'm okay with letting go of a few Solomons and McGlincheys for Deshaun
Draft picks are not as valuable as you think. We literally spent a 4th on a punter lol

They must really want a reason to trade him

Anyways, I'll stick with my proposal on the first page:
#12, #42, 2022 1st, 2022 3rd, 2023 2nd, Deebo Samuel
If we have to throw in a 2023 4th and convert some 6ths into 7ths or whatever, then so be it.

What does Thomas have anything to do when he's a FA and McGlinchey doesn't make anything to be a cap casualty
