It all makes sense to me now. Why are the 49ers of all teams anti Jones? I just watched his top 10 plays after announcing his retirement and it donned on me... Mac jones is Alex smith. We all love Alex but so many bad memories of passing on Rodgers and Smith always making the short safe play and gaining 9 yards on 3 downs. The majority of niner fans have hopes for something more.

I've yet to hear a convincing argument why mac is for sure the guy besides that kyle played with qbs just like him, and he never had control over who he got to play qb besides jimmy but that was just a good opportunity and cousins who was a freaking 4th round pick for a reason. Honestly if Kyle does pick Mac and he ends up being very average then he will have no credibility when it comes to personnel decisions after he gets the boot. So if he picks him he better be brady cause that's the only way to justify the pick if you're picking him over fields and lance. This is why I have a hard time believing it's going to be mac.

also you don't draft a QB just because he's the most "pro-ready" especially when you have Jimmy.

it's all about what a QB could be, ceiling top end traits...this is where Simms is a dummy.

No lol. He's not. Not even close. Alex was way more tentative and risk-averse. You Mac Jones haters can't even hate on him accurately lol.

ive also seen the Andy dalton comp. again, it even close. Dalton was LESS athletic and also not nearly as good at reading defenses, something you can go look up directly from his scouting report if you are so inclined.
