+1 And none of these guys are finished products. On the right team, all of them can be stars, on the wrong team they'll all be busts.

This is simply the truth of it...Rosen was regarded as the most pro-ready. Great field vision can make quick reads, throws with anticipation, accurate yada yada.

You you who wasn't? Watson...held onto the ball to long, can't go through reads, wayyyy too many turnovers in college etc.

Mahomes said he didnt know how to read coverages in college and his first couple yrs in the league.

Herbert ran some gimmicky offense, so no way he could be good in the NFL.

you can learn the mental part of playing football...you gotta find the right prospect willing to learn it and can absorb all of it. Gotta have the right coaching.

you can't reach a guy how to be more athletic & have top arm talent....every single rookie QB is gonna have issues and have to deal with the speed of the NFL. It's the ones that can create plays when they're younger (until the get there mentally) that are having success now.

Like you said...end of the day where any of these guys go will play a big part in what they become. I think we have a pretty damn good organization/roster/coaching staff, so why not aim for the high ceiling/traits prospect?

I see some of it...I'd saying Jones has better footwork overall in the pocket (just a better internal clock in the pocket). Jimmy has a quicker release and can throw from different platforms better than Mac.

id say Jimmy has a stronger arm, but Jones is more accurate for sure.

Jones has a better deep ball for sure.

Only thing is a lot of these big strong athletic QBs can actually play football....actually think things are going the other way as far as what the league wants and is successful with now

No doubt. I also think his WRs are pretty open and he's usually got a nice clean pocket to work with.

that's not me taking a shot either, just kinda the truth of it...same goes for most college QBs. Jimmy was throwing bombs in college too.

But yet, it only gets brought up for Jones

Not true, you bring it up plenty in the other threads Think we can all agree most of these college QBs have clean pockets (some a little more than others) and pretty good receivers to throw the ball too...those windows are pretty big in college vs the NFL.

Yeah he was and they were dimes most of the time. That is the reason I want him to get better at it wether it's timing, mechanics or health planting his foot.....just do it dammit. Or it's time to upgrade pronto. He does need better pass protection and at least Aiyuk can go deep
I think it was Shannon Sharpe that compared Mac to Tom Brady coming out of college.

I got a feeling Mac will be the pick at #12, unless the Pats trade up in front of us and steal him.

No idea you can go see his college highlights and he's throwing the all downfield a ton.
