There is still hope the Jets pass on him.
Maybe they will stick with Darnold and take a generational talent in Kyle Pitts. Unlikely but one can only hope.
The Jets could take Pitts and still have a shot at Jones with #23 or by trading up with their 2nd rounder at #34 or some combo including their two 3rd round picks.
Now that would be some serious wheeling and dealing. Wouldn't be mad at that move either if I were a Jets fan. But if they are going to pass on a QB, just go all in with D'Arnold. Add another one of the T/G prospects at 23 and take Pitts. I'd say trade back and take Pitts later, but I don't think it's a guarantee Atlanta or Cincinnati would pass.

Don't think of Justin Fields having so much of a higher ceiling than Mac Jones.
Think of it this way,
Mac Jones is a more athletic version of Peyton Manning when he was in the draft.
Not sure what any of this has to do with Zach Wilson. But none of it is true.
If Mac Jones were a more athletic version of Peyton Manning, he'd be in the conversation for 1st overall. He's not in the conversation for 1st or 2nd best.

I forgot who it was but wasn't there another situation like this then they ended up drafting his replacement? Vague I know but I felt like I've seen this before. I know even corey Davis said he expects darnold to be the qb, but we will see.
Well the Cardinals were steadfast that Rosen was their guy. Russel Wilson wasn't talked about for the Seahawks hype letter this year. George Kittle expects Jimmy G as our QB. NFL off season is the best way to describe what a woman means when she says "go ahead have fun"
Set up. LMAO.

As Young mentioned, he wants to play for KS and SF.
If the Jets can't develop him properly he may never recover.
I get the Jets as an org, but this is LaFleur there and Saleh. There should be some quality coaching available.

That list is terrifying. But I also think a good deal of attention is not paid to the fact that 1st round QB's almost always go to the worst teams and typically only given a couple years to prove themselves. I think the Eli Manning strategy is completely under used.
Exactly. I think Wilson on the Jets becomes a bust. Wilson in SF becomes a superstar. The Jets aren't ready for a rookie QB
Why? I understand the stigma of the Jets as an org. But Saleh is HC. Mike LaFleur is calling the plays. I am not sure who is the QB coach, but Saleh looks to have assembled a nice well rounded staff with a mix of veteran minds, guys who are proven in their position, as well as some upcoming familiar names. I think the Jets will get this right, so long as people are patient and their GM makes the right picks.
