"noodle arm" was used frequently in the Watson thread. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Alot of people in here wouldn't touch Maho.es before 3rd round too. MANY had Trubisky over Mahomes

Even Nathan Peterman over Mahomes

I dont have a lot of faith in Kyle trading up for Wilson, even if possible

Watson was my guy heading into that draft. I was one of those defending Watson from posters calling him overrated and noodle arm lol I knew he was the real deal.

I knew Trubisky was going to suck and wanted no part of him. Proof is also in the thread.

Tbh, I didn't know much of Mahomes because I didn't watch Texas tech games but after watching highlights I could see why people were big on him going into the draft.

Definitely remember people losing their minds over the combine throw number lol.

I didn't have a huge preference in QBs but loved Watson's performance in big games. I was pretty much in the "if Kyle takes any of them I'm thrilled with it" camp...sucks that we didn't in hindsight and hopefully it was a big lesson for Kyle.

Yes because they were clear cut stars coming out of the draft process. That's why they went 10 & 12th overall.

Hindsight draft critiques are great

I remember people throwing out how Watson doesn't go through progressions, threw way too many INTS, accuracy wasn't amazing, wanted to play "hero" ball instead of make the easy play, one read and run blah blah blah.

I think a lot of people got a reality check on QB projections and scouting after that 2017 (same with Mahomes as well)

Im right there...I wasn't sold on any of the top 3 QBs. I'm not gonna pretend I was. Hopefully our FO and kyle had learned. I learned that traits and upside matter.

I remember saying I think Malik McDowell is better than Solomon Thomas and having people laughing and ignoring that. Then I said we should trade the number 2 overall pick for the back up in New England Jimmy G.

Kyle did go to 2 superbowls in 4 years with similar style QBs. I think he's pretty dialed in on what style of QB he wants.

I think you missed my point. My point is that Kyle obviously couldn't see that those two were potential stars, even when they had all the resources to do so. It doesn't matter that 8 other teams passed on them. It matters that Kyle passed on them for 3rd rd talent Beathard and possibly 4th rd talent Cousins (since that's were he was drafted )

so, what makes you confident in Kyle to believe values Wilson the way you do, to trade up for him?

I'm still baffled that pople couldn't see that Watson was going to be a star
I was a mahomes Stan, but I will accept no AMPM bacon cheeseburger slander. Gimme one of those and a mayonnaise packet or two, and we good

Shoot, I posted that I wouldn't rule out the Browns taking him #1 overall. They may wish they had.
