Even if Fitz ran faster than we think, he runs slower than Wrs and quite a few tight ends and he has been at that slower speed for quite a few years. Either way he's a big boy that can break tackles and run over people. We have four players like that now. Kittle Kyle J, Samuel and Jennings.

I can't think of another offense that has four players like this. Just bullies

Fitz in his prime was much faster. He's like 36 now lol.

Yeah would have been nice to see what Hurd could do in this offense as well. Seems like Kyle has went away from his old "style" of WRs.

I like Jennings, I'm not expecting much from him this yr too be honest. I think Taylor has the slot role locked down as of now.

He ran a 4.63, 40-yard-dash at the 2004 NFL Combine. Currently he's probably faster, and the 40 is obviously overrated.

Fitz never ran at the combine, was injured I believe. He ran 4.48 at his pro day. So, more than likely would've ran mid 4.5's at the combine.

Key is, can he catch? To be a receiver, you have to receive. Bobbling won't cut it in the NFL.

Why do we care about 40 time again? These guys can lose 0.2 seconds on the basis of simply having a slightly worse start. Think about it. They aren't olympic sprinters and even olympic sprinters get some type of variance on their times simply due to their start, the track, or something very minor.

Bolt began the 2012 season with a leading 100 m time of 9.82 seconds in May.[176] He defeated Asafa Powell with runs of 9.76 seconds in Rome and 9.79.

Who really cares about 0.2 time difference. THAT has nothing to do with speed and more to do with other factors being perfect, such as start, timer, shoes,...Now if a WR runs a 5.0, 4.9, 5.1, then you should worry.

Never was at the combine...

Had some decent hands here (yes it's a highlight video lol)

FWIW he had 4 drops last yr...for reference Aiyuk had 6, lamb had 3, Jeudy had 7.

I checked a few sites and Larry's average time at his pro day was a hand timed 4.5. That was about the average of his attempts. That's not bad for a guy that is 6'3" and about 220 lbs. He also has huge 10 1/2" hands. Jerry Rice was reported to have run 4.71 but that was later denied. Walsh said they had him at 4.59 and Gil Brandt had him at 4.55. Neither time is blazing but it didn't seem to hurt him too much.

I know a lot of fans drool over the guys that run sub 4.3 but they are rarely great receivers. Most are under 6' and less than 190lbs. The other thing is that no good receiver just lines up and runs as fast as he can on most plays. You have to have that 2nd gear so you can juke a defender and then put on a burst to open some space. If you're running flat out it's hard to make precise cuts. Precise patterns and good hands are more important than raw speed.

He's only 212 pounds. Look at us gushing over a guy who's really not big enough to monster NFL DBs. Hurd is league's beyond Jennings in the physicality/athleticism department.

And we were skeptical about DK Metcalf but gush over this dude as if he's a TE in a WR body. Dude is small for a "big" NFL receiver.

And he's not fast.

Would you consider Michael Thomas a "big" WR? They're the same size. He's bigger than Hopkins as well. Julio was 5lbs bigger coming out of Bama (same height). Mockdraftable has Jennings at 215lbs.

As far as size/weight for the position he's in the 80th percentile.

No one was skeptical of DK from a measurable standpoint lol. There was question marks on if he could run a full route-tree.

I know you have a thing about speed, but things have changed a little in the NFL

If you're big and slow it limits what you can do...I'm also not talking about 40time speed, I'm talking about just being quick in and out of routes off the LOS etc.

So yeah you don't have to be a 4.3 guy. You can't be a "slow" WR either. I don't care how badass you are you're not gonna make every catch if they're always contested.

Jennings imo will make for a good big slot, possession WR and in the RZ. Can't hate that for a 7th rd pick (who will play STs as well).
