Yes. There has been some.

I wonder - was that out of necessity because there was no one else?
Or has he gotten more conservative with rookie play over time?
Or drafting lower and they are projects?

Just something to watch for.
Dead market fully vindicates 49ers for not overpaying Jauan Jennings

This off-season has been a really weird one. Usually teams overspend, but not this year. Unless you're a pro bowl type caliber player, that's still in their prime, teams aren't dishing out big money for above average players.

Hopefully it becomes the new norm. Crazy what some average players got over the years. QB market needs a change/reset as well, moreso than any other position

Hopefully baseball follows suit soon.

Meh. With all due respect, "this is what hear" is not to be trusted as story material. The only way I believe Kawakami, or any other reporter for that matter, is if they name a source. Other than some guy or girl named "This Is What I Hear." Kawakami would report that "the sky is pink" based upon, "this is what I hear."

I mean, sunrise/sunset...

As of 3/19/2026 JJ has not signed yet, which means teams have not met JJ's perceived value of himself (whatever that figure may indeed be.)
I still think there is a spot on the roster for Jennings if the price is right.
It seems unlikely given how much they paid Evans. Will they even want to pay $12M one-year deal at this point?

Kirk signing made that probability to near 0% chance. You got 3 seasoned vets with Evans, Robinson, and Kirk. Pearsall and Cowing are entering year 3 in the NFL. Watkins entering year 2.

We'll likely draft 1 WR, 1-2 UDFAs, and perhaps 1 vet with ST coverage skills.

Kyle is making a dedicated effort to change the culture of the WR unit. So purely from a skills, budget, and mindset standpoint, it's really not much of a fit anymore.
Still unsigned

Im starting to feel for this young man who played his heart out for us. Hard for me to believe that a blue collar guy like this isn't valued while loud mouth divas are snatched up day 1.

We should start being real with kids letting them know that the Deon Sanders, Richard Sherman, Ocho Cinco, B.A, Deebo way, is the way to go if you want to get recognition and set yourself up for a future with the NFL.

I think the teams discussed this stuff at meetings. They're trying to settle down the spending and cap issues that arise from over spending just to get mediocre players.that's my opinion. I'm pretty sure that's illegal if it was able to be proven but something has to happen since every free agency messes up a lot of teams books

I doubt that, these guys will sign anyone. They need to sign to win or sell tickets.

I just think this was a weak free agent year
Anyone buying this? Or is this just JJ's agent fantasy? If the interest is real, why is JJ unsigned? Anyone?

I was buying it until I read Jennings would instantly step into the no. 1 receiver role once signed. The price is wrong, Bob.
