Yeah JJ didn't have much leverage here. I don't think anyone was beating down the door to trade for him and when he got injured i'm sure no one called. Also i'm not sure teams value him as much as we do.

The best thing he can do is show up and ball out this year and get his new contract next year.
JJ needs to stop crying and play like his contract states. Doing what he did so close to the start of the season is toxic to the team's health. These players need to remember to be a team player. I'm glad he is out there because someone like me would not enable such rule breaking behavior - in other words, no IR but rather suspension without pay. The rules are the rules and these players need harsh consequences if they do not follow them.

The history of his calf injury likely hurt him the most. Both in terms of trade value and value to the 49ers, that lingering injury was an issue.

I think the "I want over $20M per" thing hurt him the most as far as trading goes
You guys are going to miss this dude when he's gone .

Of course we will. Doesn't mean we should want to pay him $20+ mil per year to be WR3.

That demand came while he was unavailable due to the calf injury. Yes/and deal for me.

I don't think he is worth the same or more than Mike Evans who is currently at $20M.

Sure. Hopefully we get a really good player with the 3rd round pick the 49ers get for him going somewhere else to be overpaid.
Please, just stay healthy

I hope JJ stays healthy and has great season. IMO after the season is over I don't see him signing with the 49ers I think he moves on

This.

Just a little reminder.

That's the kind of plays people forget about the physicality he plays with and the tenaciousness. But hey he's just another WR. Steelers or some other team are going to snatch JJ up after this season.

JJ is looking for big money so he should be playing hard for his next and, maybe only. BIG pay day. Niners called his bluff so he will almost certainly move on, but he will be a huge contributor to the team's success this year.

I don't think people forget ... it's just that even with that stuff he's still limited. He's not fast, he's not explosive, he's not quick. He's a very good slot receiver for this team ... he is not worth $20+M for the 49ers. I hope he balls out this year and gets $30M a year from someone else.
