We recouped an extra 1st with the pick and got Aiyuk. Kyle wanted Aiyuk primarily anyway.
Painting it as some 1 vs. 1 player swap seems more like a coping method than anything else.

The failure wasn't the pick. The failure was paying Armstead and Jimmie Ward instead of Buckner. The pick was just to help recoup the loss of Buckner after the stupid decision had already been made. If they had paid Buckner and let Armstead and Ward leave they probably still draft Kinlaw to replace Armstead anyways.

Totally agree. You don't trade THAT position if he's young and dominant. That being said, I really REALLY can't stand Kinlaw.
