Agreed. Great dude and a strong will to recover. Still always sucked at QB.
Sucked is being really unfair. He got two teams to the Playoffs and nearly had the Redskins of all teams looking respectable. Is he great? no....but he is good. Our own disfunction when he was here set him back a lot.

I think unlucky infection. The initial break was so severe as well, so the surgery was not routine from what it sounds like. I knew they revealed it was much worse than everyone thought and he almost died, and despite all that the photo was absolutely jarring
. my two best memories of alex is more of a testament to the person he is.. when he ran camp alex with no contract and became a great leader of our team./ and then when he spent alot of his own resources organizing search parties for that missing girl back in the day. i can not speak for the chiefs and the redskin fans but i think few fans there have few bad things to say about him as well.. and even if they do i do not want to hear it. lol
