Yep, Deebo, Bourne, Hurd and a rookie aren't going to lead us back to the playoffs either.

Wanna bet?

If Jeudy or Ruggs or even Lamb aren't better than Sanders was last year I'll be shocked. He average 3.6 receptions and 50 yards per game. Ruggs and Jeudy could do that in one catch since they're both faster and bigger than Sanders. Sanders was fine for last year but he wasn't a difference maker. There will be a learning curve for the new receivers but what they lack in experience they can make up for in superior talent.

Your way undervaluing what Sanders brought to the table.

The Saints game is on right now and Sanders was a beast for us. This is not a minor loss at all. It will be a good future move but to say any rookie WR will come in and definitely do what he did is foolish.

Exactly, it's highly unlikely that a rookie does the same thing Sanders did for the team. It's a big loss.

He meant super bowl. We re not getting there without a quality vet at wr like Sanders.

Apparently no one thought we'd make the super bowl last season too. How did that work out?

had we not got sanders . we never would have got there

Exactly, how can fans ignore the big impact Sanders had on the offense since he was brought in, JG's stats alone improved as soon as it happened.
Relying on a bunch of young and mostly unproven receivers going into the season is a bad idea. We're back to square one

i am trying to wait to see what they do in the draft and if they decide to bring in a nice vet whose name is not mathews before i do the ledge thing.. but man.. back to square one is crazy to me .

I agree.
8 mil per season is a high price for a player his age.. with such a deep rookie group in the draft, we be drafting our number 2 WR..
This was about the cap and not the player. They couldn't really afford $8 million per year (plus bonus money) for a player that averaged less than 4 catches and 50 yards per game. They must feel they can get at least that much production out of whoever they pick at #13. If they don't, most fans will consider that player a bust. They will probably miss his veteran presence in the locker room more than his on field production.

But we had the cap to do it. And if you are trying to win a chmapionship you cant do it by not bringing in or keeping solid vets and hoping for a rookies and young players to lead, teach, and produce.

Especially when you're in a championship window, you need players like Sanders. Its not like hes getting a 5 year contract either, 2 years doesn't hurt our future cap.

why you feel a need to down play the importance of sanders to our offense . especially if you saw us pre sanders and post sanders. is beyond me but whatever

Same reason you feel the need to down play the teams success last season. Undefeated before we acquired Sanders and we barely threw the ball through the playoffs but yeah whatever.

its a good thing we got sanders before we played the harder teams. you do not need a crystal ball to foresee that the better teams had no fear of our wide outs before sanders prompting kyle and lynch to act why do you think they went out and got sanders in the first place.. i think some people on the zone feel a need to trash x niners when they are x niners just because they are x niners

Who's trashing him? I wanted Sanders back too but it's not the end of the world. And yeah I did see us beat the harder teams, you mean like the two playoff teams, vikes and Packers? Beat em both without needing to pass. Almost beat the ravens too without needing to pass much fwiw.
