The fact this guy has been so close to being back makes me hope so much he'll be able to play this weekend.

Might be the healthiest our defense has looked all season minus our boy Verrett and of course Kinlaw.

But Al-Shaair will give this defense a nice boost.

Well, wouldn't they both be out there depending on which packages they call?

I suppose.

isnt it typically Fred and greenlaw in the base packages? or is the base 3 LB?

It will be Warner, Greenlaw, and Al-Shair on the field at the same time

Ya love to see it for stuffing their run game and forcing Dallas into third and longs. Course we still have to deal with their WRs but situationally it should bode well for us

DAL plays a lot of 3WRs. When they are forcing the defense into base personnel (3 LBs) they are using 2 TEs to do it.
if hes close, he gives it a go i think.
along with Jimmys pick and Tartts dropped pick, his stupid 15 yard penalty was also a factor that not too many have mentioned. so f**king stupid.

I hope we do what we can to resign him. He was a times this season the best LB on the team.
imo his AWFUL taunting penalty was the beginning of the end.

i wonder what he said bc he didn't physically do anything that warranted that call.

Mean words must have hurt someone's feelings.

It really was, unfortunately. And it seemed out of character for him - and most of this team - as I don't recall many/any taunting penalties this season. But just a really bad penalty on him there on the very first play of the Rams' drive right after the Niners' TD to go up 17-7. I was PISSED...you have all the momentum going and just play your game and keep the pressure on the Rams - you DON'T do things like give a good team 15 free yards when you have the momentum and you're trying to close them out. Yes, there was a lot of time left, but if the Niners could've stopped them on that drive right after going up 17-7, that would have been big towards keeping momentum, maybe even adding to their lead, and making the Rams feel even more pressure down the stretch.

And after that bad penalty, a bunch of other bad plays (Tartt's dropped INT, others) followed and you're not going to close out games playing like that.
