You can't be in the business of giving someone a contract for something that they have done in the past. If so your team will be filled with vets that are past their prime. Does he deserve a huge contract? Hell yeah he does but you can't just go by that.

49ers are going to let the market dictate Greenlaw's contract. Teams should be a little hesitant giving him a huge contract since he's coming off a major injury and was hurt again. He'll get some decent offers for sure and I think the Niners will hopefully match them. Now if a team offers him a mega contract then i'm not so sure the 49ers can afford it.

Love me some Greenlaw. He'd be my top priority.

It's not on field production to prove. He dealt with Achilles issues all last year then tore it. Came back for a game then couldn't finish the year.
Think teams may be hesitant to give big money after seeing him get shut down again. So it's a prove your healthy deal…not prove you're good.

Yea we all love the dude but you can't just deal him out a long term deal with the injury concerns. Another team might do it but it is what it is. I believe another team will give him a better deal and he should take it.

Yeah, it's an unusual situation since his market is kind of a mystery. He showed everything you want to see, but only lasted about 31 plays. I think the 49ers badly want him back, and so do I, but they are waiting to see how his market plays out a bit. The NFL knows about Greenlaw now, it's no secret that he's an elite linebacker.
