Would a full offseason be a "lengthy rehab" in your opinion?

Yes, generally to truly fully rehabilitate and promote collagen production (his main issue) will take 6 months or so. That's why they tried the PRP. I'm sure they'll try again in the offseason. Tried to get his body to begin to heal itself and build more collagen. But even if they went the surgery route (I would be surprised if they did) it's not like an ACL recovery. So, his availability for next season isn't an issue regardless of how he treats his tendonosis this offseason.

Would they do something like a scope to "clean it up" for this type of scenario?

I would say surgery is done in 5-10% of all tendonosis cases, maybe even less than that. So any surgery related to the tendonosis is really unlikely. That said, it would be a relatively minor surgery, mostly a debridement.

Ford is a guy who will be more valuable in the postseason than regular season. Going to face some elite QBs one way or another.

Yeah just hope his knee holds up.

As much as this is true, Ford is an absolute stud too. If he stays healthy, we will have the best edge rushing duo in the NFL for the foreseeable future.

I think they are just taking it easy with him because he does have some pain but they're really saving him for that harder stretch run starting with Seattle. He is going to be as fresh as he's ever been this late in the season.

I watched Ford get triple teamed at times the last game. Make no mistake this defense would not be as ferocious without Ford on it. Even with the knee situation, he still commands more respect than any other 49ers defender for the simply fact he can get to the QB faster than any other DE in the NFL.

I can totally see Bosa being double and triple teamed next game to the point where all the focus is on him....which will allow Dee to feast. I expect a monster game from Dee.

Hard to see how doubling/tripling an edge with any sustainability is a viable strategy. That means the interior rushers will be unleashed almost unchecked and Murray, who struggles with accuracy and often misses high, will be rolling out on nearly every drop back.

I agree with you. I just think that with what happened this past weekend, the Cardinals will make their focus to take Bosa out of the game....which will allow the rest of our line to dominate. But can see the Cardinals placing their running back on Bosa's side to help and will allow Ford to have a big game.

Yup. We can never have too many pass-rushers. Particularly when you consider the pass-heavy contenders we may face: Green Bay, New Orleans, Chiefs, and Patriots

well it could mean less TEs and RBs in the passing game.

If he can tie up the best pass blocker, and pull a skill position player out of the play...that is a major impact on the offense.

I don't think that an offense that needs the QB to be mobile and make yards with his feet will do much double teaming. that just makes the offense that much easier to stop
Dee Ford has the one of the quickest first steps in the game, and he finishes. Coupled with Bosa this tandem ranks with the best in team history at this early stage.
