It's not an injury. It is a degenerative condition which may or may not get worse by playing. It really comes down to how much pain he can stand and it seems like he can handle a lot. He'll probably try another PRP procedure or something else in the off season but he has to grit his teeth a play thru it for the rest of this year.

What he's saying is Ford will more than likely not take part in practices though out the yr and people need to just realize this. It's simply load management.

For me I'll take 30-40 quality snaps vs 60+ snaps and have him fresh when it's necessary. We have a good depth there.

yes,, and bosa is now 100 per cent. he is a pro who does not need the practice. i am fine with no practicing. just baby him through the season and hope he does not get whacked in that area during a game

Yeah, I could be wrong but I think it's more pain tolerance then anything else. Might be a problem for him yrs down the road. I don't think it's like an ankle where he can injure it easier or anything.

Yup give me some quality snaps and keep him fresh throughout the yr
Time to go that way tonite!
How many snaps did he play last night, I saw him close in a few sacks but didn't really see him much. We're they conservative cause score and trying to let him rest more?

Maiocco will have the snap counts later today.

Edit: Per your question -- 17 snaps for Ford last night. https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/49ers-snap-count-matt-breida-tevin-coleman-give-club-two-no-1-backs

Thought he got a half sack with Bosa. Almost got a sack late but Baker got away from him. But yea didn't see him or Solly all that much.

I thought Ford and AA had similar impact games yesterday. Not in the stat sheet but made life easier for everybody else.

This is an elite DL. Probably the best in the NFL by a wide margin. So, who eats will change week to week.
Ford - Fix Or Repair Daily

Hopefully he can make it through a great game!

It'll be interesting to see Saleh's game plan using Ford and LB's.
Remember when Chiefs fans were gloating about replacing Ford with Frank Clark?

They managed an amazing feat. They spent a ton of money and gave up a bunch of assets and somehow their defense got worse, that takes some truly inept decision-making.
What a talent. Amazing his impact in so few snaps.
