Why per snap?

Do we rate pass rushers on snap percentage. If I sort DLine by snaps percentage will the top of the list correlate to best pass rushers? Just curious

Good question. But the more opportunities for Ford the better. I could see giving him off on most 1st downs and obvious running downs. Other than that hopefully he's on the field making plays.

I see the point, I'll reach into my bag of tricks and say there's probably an appreciable amount of diminishing returns with an increase in snap percentage.

I'd leave it there but I am feeling verbose. First factor creating diminishing return is fatigue, second is that the increased snaps are more luckily to be on running plays limiting the chances of sacks.

Now that I'm forced to think about it, I'd prefer him to get 10 sacks on a lower snap count. More effective, more focused (passing downs), less opportunity for injury. I think we could make a case that being able to effective rotate a DLine could be extremely powerful....

As long as Ford is good to go for the games - I couldn't care less if he doesn't practice.

An 87 million dollar defender that plays all 3 downs is money well spent.

I think we all fear we are not going to get 5 years of that.

In the end tho...like most defenders what you really want is the offense off the field in 3 to 6 snaps.

In the end it does not matter if Ford plays 500 snaps or 700 snaps...what matters is the defense gets the other team off the field.

Ford has rare tools that will help the defense get off the field.

Sick'em Dee.
I want to see him on the field as much as possible but if he only plays 1/2 or 1/3 of the snaps but has an impact when he's in there then he was worth signing. I don't worry about the money anymore because the numbers are so crazy in sports now. When you sign a free agent in any sport you almost always overpay. That's the nature of the game and the reason not to give up high draft picks except in special circumstances. Draft picks cost much less the way salaries are structured and it's the easiest way to stay under the cap. One or 2 free agents for a position of need is okay but it's not the way to build a team.

Lol, probably another alias. Probably salty Chiefs fan who is still mad he went offsides in last year's AFCCG.

The money coming out of your pocket?
Is there anyone that wishes we didn't sign him? The contract is pretty much a two year contract with 3 years of team options. It's a great deal

PHX in fine form making someone foolish look REALLY foolish. You're just lucky you are new (or a PBM) or it would have been way worse.
