If not, I can't imagine his career be more than a couple years managing such significant chronic pain.
Once again, he's questionable and it's on week 4 ( 5 w/ bye week)
if his issue is anything like my issue ...... It hurts in the moment.....then goes away. Its swelling, there are very powerful medications for swelling.
I can see him not practicing or taking needless reps to be ready for game day, as his career goes on he might end up a 3rd down player in years 4 and 5 because an injury like that can sap conditioning. I know in my case i could not do judo 5 nights a week, i could not work out with my golden gloves buddies.... regardless of what my passion is.
He still has serious value to the 49ers, not as much value as an every down player...but he still has serious value. People like him do not grow on trees.
Are the limited snaps worth the 2nd round pick?
Stop being greedy, is 10 sacks year over year worth a 2nd round pick? I could care less about snap count.
1.) He's on his 6th season and has only had 10 sacks twice.
2.) That leads me to my second point. Please enlighten me on how he's a guarantee to have have 10 sacks, or even stay healthy enough to get at least 10 sacks this season.
Look, I'm not rooting against Dee Ford. I just fear our GM did not do his due diligence when he decided to trade for could potentially be damaged goods. I'm looking after the best interest of this football club, not John Lynch. I was a Niner fan before Lynch and I'll be one after Lynch. Or Dee Ford for that matter.
It was right there and you missed it. I'll say I'm pretty sure he hasn't failed to reach a 10 plus sack season for us yet.
I personally can't judge the value of the trade but when I can it'll be on sacks, ff, and pressures. Not snaps.
