I'm thinking if the 49ers win against the Steelers, they should rest Ford in the Browns game, and then let him play against the Rams. That might preserve his health or at least extent his playing time another couple of weeks. I think towards the latter half of the season, sometime when the weather gets cold and the ground gets harder, that's when his knee gives out (for example - the Baltimore and Packers game). Hope not, but I just don't like the fact that he has to wait till Friday to feel better and possibly play on sunday. He's missing practice, and while that's not a real big deal because he's a pass rusher, in the playoffs - those little penalties and mistakes -- because he didn't practice -- will be the difference in winning and losing.
I want him to play sparingly, at least, in the Brownies game.
I want him to sack Baker at least once, then he could sit out if need be...
If anything rest him during the Pitt game and after the bye let him play against the Browns is better.
BETTER YET, WHY NOT START HIM THEN SIT HIM DOWN FOR MOST OF THE GAME SINCE BLAIR AND THOMAS ARE DOING A SOLID JOB...
PLAY HIM ON OBVIOUS PASSING DOWNS.
