Damaged goods.

typical niner fan, dumping on a player the minute they go down.

They're only doing for the attention they don't get in the real world. No other reason to be so negative, but I guess it's their choice.

So back to the topic at hand, is he damaged goods or not? At which point will you say the 49ers got value out of the trade? How many sacks would he need to get for you to be satisfied for giving up a 2nd round pick for him?

I'd say no. It's the same as it was in KC. They will always have to manage his snaps. It is what it is. Keep him playing around half the snaps and be careful with how much he is used in practice. Be prepared to develop another edge rusher, because his presence (along with Bosa) has totally transformed this team. We don't want to lose that.

For me, all eyes are on AA and Thomas as the year progresses to see who should be moved. We need picks and can lighten the load at DT. Not a chance we spend an early pick on a pass rusher like Dee Ford, but 4th round is realistic to get a speedy guy to develop as a rotational guy who could start in small stretches later on down the line.

I disagree and I think you can't afford not to continue to invest in that DLine - specially at edge rusher (if there are good ones available like a chase young). I know we probably wont get a chase young, but with a first we should continue to inveest in the edge rusher position.

you can see how different the Seifert/Carroll defense is with a credible pass rush. Personally I think you can get good DT's in the mid rounds (a la Julian Taylor) but you can only get good edge rushers via 1st through 3rd drounds (Landry, Obo, Celene etc...).

I'd love to do that. But we have no 2nd round pick. We have no viable replacement for Staley. We could use a guard. We can't keep putting off Oline. I'm all for continue to drafting pass rushers, but draft resources aren't unlimited. Are you willing to forego another season of not getting a tackle?
wow, writing off Skule before he even plays? Man that's way too pessimistice for me! At least give him a chance to see what he can do.

Have guys seen Garrett from Cleveland tonight.... imagine skule against that beast... I shudder the thought... we need a nfl left tackle asap

I hear you but it's not like quality tackles are easy to acquire.
He'll be out of football after next year.....bad feeling about this

Even if he is it's less than a 5 mil cap hit.

Some of that is either on their 3rd string QB not knowing all the protections for the gameplan or Gase going full potato.

Garrett has been unblocked several times and then when he is the LT is getting no help at all. Even when he's got a TE there the TE isnt chipping or even running interference.

I mean the QB is holding the ball quite a bit but yeah Garrett is wrecking that LT

Even with Staley playing he's still a handful and Kyle's going to help Staley. No different with Skule. I saw the Bungles constantly double Bosa, he didn't get any sacks, but the defense as a whole did great. Point is Kyle's going to go in with a plan to help out Skule, and I think he'll do just fine.

No but he could be reduced to just a 3rd down pass rusher. I think KC sold us a 🍋

"There was nothing we could have done."

We might see a triple-chip on him followed by a Skule + Toilolo combo every snap.

I mean maybe the Jets should have had a blocker him lol? Dude was running around free all night. How the f**k do you not put a blocker on him? How do you not double him?

Myles is gonna get his regardless...

but Shanahan>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gase

Horrible play-calling all night from Gase. I expect to see two TE sets, I expect to see chips from the RBs, I expect to see plenty of Juice helping as well.

I'll worry about Cleveland week 5. Right now I'm worried about TJ Watt, Tuitt, Dupree and Haywood.

Steelers pass rush isn't as sexy but it's not a joke either. No sense looking ahead to week 5 now.

Hopefully Skule is up to the job but he'll definitely need help. Hell against Garrett even Joe probably would've needed help.

who they realistically trading for? It's not like Joe is dead lol...he's gone for like the next month and a half.

Well Myles Garrett is slow and unathletic and Trevor Siemen is basically Michael Vick and Cam Newton 2.0 so it made a ton of sense.

Adam Gase is an offensive genius. Don't you dare question that man!

....

Leaving Myles Garrett unblocked.

Well....enjoy our 2nd round pick KS. Hopefully it's the low one.

Stop practicing him and only play him on sundays. That's what Andy Reid did last year

Sounds like a good idea. Let him get massages, ice baths and spa treatments all week, and use him as a pass rush specialist on Sunday.
