Not reporting to mandatory camp means a loss of an accrued season, meaning Samuel would be facing restricted free agency after 2022.
This is what I've been saying. He's only hurting himself if he wants to go that route. Either we get good trade compensation, he signs an extension, or he loses money and prime years. His choice. But we're not trading him just for the f**k of it because he's throwing a tantrum.
You and me both. Been saying this all day. Deebo has very little, it any, leverage. My position is that we lake him play out his rookie deal, but continue to try to get a deal. The in 2023 franchise him if no deal can be gotten, and tag him again in 2024. In 2025, when he's 29 and we've gotten his best years, we let him walk.
I really like Deebo. But trading him, the most important player on the offence, will be a major setback to this currently SB-ready team. There's no way we get fair trade value for him - NO FUKKING WAY!! If I were Lynch, to run off curious teams, I'd put it out there that we're seeking two 1st's, two 2nd's, a 3rd, and a starter to begin trade talks. Otherwise don't bother calling.
Deebo has no leverage. The 49ers don't have to do anything, have no reason to trade him. And if Deebo wants to hold out (on a rookie deal where fines will hurt) be my guest. But that's not a winning strategy.
I will say this: if his reason for wanting to be traded is due racial messages and death threats then the local fan-base need to get their sh!t together. Afterall, from what I've read, this isn't due to money. You local fans need to control your racist, period. Because I promise you, had fans here in Chicago done sh!t like that they would have been found, and dealt with, harshly. I find it hard to believe that, in the IT capital of the world, that (or those) fan can't be identified and at the very least held up high for public shaming in front of God and the whole world.

1. 49ers could stand firm and just keep hitting him with the tag until he submits. Two years should be enough to change his mind if he really does just want a contract and play.
2. Deebo can holdout and possibly retire, sure he might face hefty fines. But in the end if a contract is worked out he could ask the 49ers to take care of them. He could also just retire and sit out the year and the 49ers might just say screw it we don't need this drama then trade him.
Most of the time from what I've seen, the player just ends up getting traded.
So what's the trade scenario? Coming off an All-Pro campaign?
Deebo and #93 to Houston for #13, #37, and #68?
Too rich? Not enough?

49ers are one of the wealthiest and historic sports franchises in the country,. Only the Lakers can rival their revenue as far as west coast teams . If Deebo signed long term with the team he'd be incredibly wealthy while playing for one of the leagues proudest teams staying relevant and competing nearly every year . Instead he'd be happier if he played for dysfunctional franchises like the Jets, or Dolphins because "eAsT cOAsT"
that's assuming that him wanting out because of location speculation is true

It's gotta be like the Browns Watson deal imo. They had to work with Watson (no trade clause) to find a situation he wanted to be and that's the deal they do. Deebo doesn't have a trade clause but I think we would have to find places he would want to play and places that would be willing to pay him his bag. Then work out the best comp among those clubs.
Crap teams have to generate interest somehow...look at our shiny new toy.
Maybe Deebo wants to be the biggest fish in the smallest pond.
That's all I got
I keep hearing ppl say oh let's trade him to Detroit or Jacksonville some sadsack club to spite him and now that I think about it why would he sign long term there and if we are unloading cuz we can't get him to extend why would another team hand over their first round picks to be in the same spot.. wouldn't happen that way in my mind when i think about it..
If he legit wants a trade he should be able to provide a list of destinations he approves of and will sign with. Would be interested what clubs those are.. Dallas appears to be one known club.

Why would the 9ers do him or any competitor any favors? He doesn't have the leverage he will either get traded to the highest bidder or he will set at home and watch his bank account shrink daily.

You can tell him suck it up buttercup. Maybe he shows up maybe he doesn't. If he shows up and is insufferable that's your L. You would have to own that. That would be getting bent over imo...
You cannot tag him until the end of time. At some point if he wants out he's leaving.
First off I don't love this draft….the meat and potatoes of it is late day 2 early day 3. I don't value the 1sts in this draft like most yrs and if I'm not getting 1st and more then don't call me anyway. If Deebo was in this draft (and you know who he is what he can do) he's a top 5 pick all day.
second, if I'm not getting stupid compensation I'm not even entertaining it because I don't have too.
there is no exit strategy…he plays this yr on either a big ass extension or finishes out his rookie contract….after the season he's getting tagged and if he really doesn't want to play THEN I work on a trade (similar to Adams this yr).
he has ZERO leverage and he knows that hence the trade b******t talk. He just wants to get paid and I'll bet money SF isn't forking over what he thinks he should get.

Agree. He can ask to go wherever, pretty sure niners are not trading him somewhere that he can come back and haunt us.

crazy how Trent Baalke continues to haunt this organization. It feels like he started this WR revolution with that ridiculous Christian Kirk Signing. I hate that guy

Deebo doesn't want to play for the 49ers because he wants to play on the West coast, even if it's for a bad team speculation.
if you don't get it, that's on you. Go back to your awful trades

Does Indy need a WR? I'd do all I can to trade Deebo for Buckner, even if it means picking up a heftier contract for Buckner, than what we would have paid for Deebo. Getting rid of Jimmy, bet we could do it!!! 👍

Cuz it would be doing ourselves favors. We can't deal him if we don't know where he wants to be long term. Detroit can offer high end draft picks but at the end of the day if Deebo says I'm not extending with Detroit guess what Lions rescind their offer... if you want to trade him you need to know where he wants to go first and these suggestions of trade to Detroit or NYJ or Jacksonville are silly unless indeed he wants to go there and will sign there long term. It's another consideration I suppose if we trading Deebo..

On point

hopefully it it doesn't come down to that and he sign an extension, but if it does, niners have plenty of leverage as you stated.
