It's a negotiating tactic and a how a player shows his displeasure. It's Deebo's way of telling John he can take his $18 Million offer and shove it.
I guess this is the new thing. And this is where I say something about the new generation and show my age.

pay the man....dude out here playing RB/WR/PR.
It's the whole damn point of having a starting QB on a rookie contract. Yet here we are with upset young stars and Jimmy (and his $27M) are hanging around like a stale fart.

What could it be? A 49ers lowball offer pissing Deebo off? The 49ers maybe doing their "due diligence" and considering Jets rumored 1st for a DK or Deebo?

Unless he is asking for absolutely ridiculous money, there is no reason not to pay Deebo considering the easily available route you have to freeing up money (cutting Jimmy). I think this is probably just negotiating tactics, but there is no reason to piss Deebo off by offering a lowball deal when you can free the money up now and benefit from Trey's rookie contract deal.

I honestly don't know the best move here. Lot of risk playing him into his next year and deploying the tag, could alienate the player. Lot of risk paying $107m over 4 years with $60m gtd as well.
Guy has balled out for exactly four months. Love him to death but you never want a bad contract and we deploy him like a RB high volume of serious contact. Lots of risk trading as it could be trading DeFo all over again. I dunno. I'm almost of the opinion offer him what we feel he is worth. Perhaps 4 years $88m with $45m gtd. If he turns that down cuz he wants the $30m annual we just play him into the season and tag. Could always tag and trade and get a haul like GB with Adams or if he gets hurt our price to extend gets a lot more reasonable.

Every player should get paid. But that childish Murray tactic pisses me off. And we should've seen this coming from deebo from what he's been posting on social media every time a WR has signed a massive deal this off-season.

I agree with this.

DO NOT USE THE TAG ON DEEBO. sorry.. the tag is the worst.. do not let it get to that point lynch.. when you got something good , that just means everyone else wants it. do not let it get to the tag stage lynch... I get some where think that everything lynch does is god like... but in this case..... if he lets it get to the tag stage.. that is a big nail in his coffin in my opinion

julian peterson.... oh its a high honor to get the tag.... reality.. he could not wait to get out of town. team is just asking for trouble if they let this thing go... but we have 29 million dollars invested in back up quarterbacks so we are all good
