Trade the dude and both sides move on. I think a few teams would pay him 20 or more just not over 25. Broncos seem like a good fit. a ton of ppl here in DC want him on the Commanders
The only teams and fans that think he has value are the non niner fans. Anyone who actually watches the games saw him averaging under 3 yards a carry on handoffs and got like 600 yards receiving despite getting wr1-2 targets.
Basically he sucks now. Dudes worth like 3-6 million because you can shove him in as wr3-4 and punt returns. 20 million+ is just insanity

Even if they end up getting a 4th or 5th and maybe a 7th thr Niners can package those picks wth others to move up. They are projected to have 10 picks after the 3 additional compensatory picks. Darnold may end up being a 3rd which woud give them 3 picks in the 3rd. Trade one of those 3rds and the 4th or 5th they get for Deebo and move into the 2nd round.

Trade him immediately, wait no don't trade him that's stupid, oh move this guy ASAP. Must be NFL talking head, we have absolutely nothing to talk about season. Of course the NFL is 365 a year and it's time to move on from Deebo but a bunch of media hacks giving hawt taeks doesn't do jacksquat.

I wish we knew what would be best from a cap perspective. It we are only getting a day 3 pick would it not be best just to release him after June 1st. We need the cap space and trading him would cost more than just looking at FA and then release Deboo.

I'm already annoyed by all the useless click bait.
Listen - the 49ers are NOT trading Deebo --- before June 1st. The cap hit is $30+ mil if traded before. With the Brock deal coming, ain't happening.
The more likely scenario is a post June 1st cut or trading him mid-season/after season 2025/2026.
I wouldn't rule out him shopping around then realizing the WR market is not like it was in 2022 and wanting to stay. Jamaar Chase may get 2022 WR $ but no one else is. Tee Higgins will be the barometer of the new "going rate"for WRs.

Exactly...that's why he's not getting traded.

I agree wth you guys... it just does not make sense to trade him. It would have to be for next years draft after June 1st. If not, just cut him.

Darnold is a 4th.

This is why retructuring contracts to make room for someone that wants big money isn't always a good idea. You can end up in a situation like this where a player can't be traded without that big dead cap hit. Finding room under the cap to keep a player isn't as easy as many fans think it is.

Can his cap hit reduce if he doesn't show up in 2025 or does he have to actually retire ?

I have no idea. The rules and language of these contracts make it hard to know.

All depends if you want the DM in one yr and be done with it or if you want to spread it out and have DM for a couple yrs.
if they can get anything of substance for him, I say do it. You gonna eat the money regardless. Might as well get something in return.

We'll take pick 85
lol
They can have him. I'm sick of the diva.
Lol, come on. Dude sees the writing on the wall, he's maybe dropping to 4th on the depth chart if Aiyuk is healthy. He didn't even make a scene about the trade request, it came out what I'm assuming was weeks after his exit review.
I don't hate the guy, he played hard for us. Get him to the AFC but not need to hate on him.
He played hard on occasion, and, Deebo's own behavior has caused fans to sour on him. He does not have the charisma he thinks he has, and the crowd let him know it a time or two. He didn't like it.
Denver?? With Bo Nix and a HC who has no problem telling him to STFU!!! In addition, playing in the cold ??? This diva ain't doing that. JACKSONVILLE or some other dome or warm weather team. DIVABO is to frail now for cold weather football.
