It's the right move for both sides honestly. I just think we hurt our chances to net anything of worth with that reworked deal.

With that contract, I kind of figured this was coming. Not enough production for how much he gets paid. Plus very difficult to have two $30M receivers on a team.

Neither WR has anything close to a $30M cap hit this upcoming yr. Together they don't even add up to $30M in 2025

What does the team trading for him take on for a cap hit? It looks like SF eats a ton of DM moving him before June 1st.

I could be wrong, but wouldn't it make a team more willing to trade for him if he has nothing tied to him cap wise?

I don't see how it helps either. We eat dead money regardless and he is only under contract for one more season. Unless a team overpays (1st or 2nd), why bother?

They can get a 3rd. Which will basically solidify them as front runners for Garrett.

Why can't fans ever understand the difference between dead cap and cap savings??

Dead cap does not matter so long as cap SPACE is created.

You think a 3rd? Alright, I originally thought a 4th is decent but 3rd would be great. His value is obviously lower than a couple years ago but still the body of work is worth a mid-rounder easily.

I'm still very confused why we reworked Deebo's deal heading into this past season. Killed our chances to trade him.

I'll always appreciate Deebo for what he brought to the team but it's clear the smart move is to move him. Too much talk lately without the production.
It was a head scratcher for sure.

I always here people say that Lynch & Kyle know more than we do. Does that not apply in Deebo's case regarding his extension?

I don't think they want to trade him.

Maybe…and that feels like a mistake. He's nowhere near the player he was when he got the big deal. He's hurting us more than helping us lately and he can't keep his mouth shut when he's not featured. Acts and gets paid like a stud but producing like a backup. We'll see how it shakes out.
Maybe the constant complaining about lack of opportunities is why they're exploring the possibility of trading him.

Will be shocked if we get anything more than a conditional 5th.
