I still sign Collins to take place of Tart. Keep Colbert who is young! Earl is 30. I way I pay him that kind of money at 30.

I think it's important to remember that just because Earl Thomas "wants" to be the highest paid safety in the league doesn't mean that he's going to be. Look at how incentive-laden of a contract Sherman had to settle for.

Earl Thomas wants to become the highest-paid safety in the NFL, with a deal worth more than the $13 million annual contract of Chiefs safety Eric Berry, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. That's not good news for Cowboys fans, who had their hearts set on their team signing Thomas.
If the Seahawks' safety, who played high school and college football in Texas, won't give the Cowboys a "hometown discount," as Hill reports, then Thomas will be out of the Cowboys' price range.
Thomas will get more money to sign elsewhere.
The Cowboys have big contracts with their own players to get done.

I would give Thomas like $15 mil guaranteed his first season then $14 mil guaranteed his second season with a chance to make $20 with incentives.
That's a bit much but I think that's what its gonna take to get him.

Nothing against Collins but box safeties just are not that hard to find.

Same, very rarely are there free agents that are worth it. Earl is one of those guys. Most top free agents are simply very good players. Earl is generational. I am hoping they break out the check book. My solace is that when the FO wants someone, they're willing to overpay,

I think he would have the kind of impact in our secondary that would make this a no brainer. And it would give us some breathing room lol. We have huge glaring holes at Safety, SAM, LEO,need another CB...

I'd offer Earl an easily obtained incentive laden contract similar to Sherman. Make it so that he can get PAID if he plays like he has, but that he has to play to earn it.

It would allow adrian to sit and learn for a year or two without fully giving up on him. WHich would be excellent for the team.

No more Brandon Graham so let's pay ET and get him in a 49er uni. He can stabilize the backend and perhaps allow Colbert to learn from the best.

I'm just hoping Lynch is as interested in Thomas as we are!!! Cause if he is then I'm sure we'll be seeing Thomas reunited with Sherman!!!

I think this puts the cowboys out of contention, they wont give this guy the time of money that we will imo. They still gotta pay Dak, Zeke and Lawrence (if he chooses to resign), we have more than enough room to give this guy the payday that he wants. Come to the Red & Gold Earl! We got the moneyyyyyyy

ET at free safety backed up by AC. Let Harris & Tartt duke it out for the strong safety spot. My $$ is on Harris since Tartt is fragile as heck. Seems like a solid safety group to me.
