He was an all-pro in 2017 and played great this year until getting hurt. Don't think he will have to play on a prove it deal.
Being that the team plays his style of defensive scheme and Sherm recruiting him might allure him here. Hope so.
Me too. Sticking it to the hawks would be icing on the cake.

I'm on board. No idea where Colbert's head is. Exum was meh. This position is too important to hope Colbert regains his 2017 form, or hope Exum is a long term solution. Give Earl one of those 'Paraag special' 4 year deals that's really a 2 year deal in disguise.

Id have to agree but really only because we don't have any other choice. I dunno who the other FA FS are but Colbert regressed badly and all our other secondary players are pretty much garbage.

I just dont know how I feel about becoming the Legion of Boom's graveyard.

I've read this 20 times in a row and it's getting more confusing.
Bring out the Helicopter Jed...

Fixed

"if they are still a good football player who cares where they played at before"
If we don't get Earl but still get Graham I'll be content.
Earlier today I was in my office watching "The Herd with Colin Cowherd"…
When he came out of a commercial break he name-dropped Stephen Jones (Son of Jerry) … and then followed
that up by saying Stephen told him "the Cowboys, will not be big players in the FA Market this offseason".

Cowherd then went on to add "Dallas' team is somewhat set minus a few pieces … namely a TE etc".
So, immediately my thoughts were:
  • he's either using Cowherd' platform as a charade, to throw off would-be competitors …
  • or he was honestly answering a question posed to him …

If Earl isn't in their FA plans, can Sherman convince Earl that SF would be a good landing spot?

I'm not totally sold on, nor against Earl being a Niner … I'm more concerned with his health, and
how well he'll be able to perform come September, based on his rehabilitation and mending powers.

System-wise it's a no brainer, and like Sherman, he'd act as a coach for any up-and-coming players.
I definitely see San Francisco and Dallas as two of his preferred destinations. One, he's already made it known that he desires to be a Cowboy... two, with how unceremoniously things ended in Seattle, I'm sure he'd love nothing more than to sign with a division rival out of spite. Maybe he'd even sign an incentive-laden deal with the Rams.

Dallas has a boatload of big free agents coming due-Dak Prescott,DeMarcus Lawrence,Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott. That's just off the top of my head.

That and potentially more money are what we can offer over the Cowboys.

He should go to Houston. He'd be an upgrade over what's left of Honey Badger.
