He fits well as a cheap backup safety.

Those teams drafted several safeties which made him expendable. He's not a bad player. As depth he can also he a valuable special teams contributor and he is definitely cheaper than Reid.

might as well pick up for measurables to build our special teams. Special teams should all consist of combine freak Safeties and Linebackers.

my guess is that him and Marcell Harris will battle it out for the backup spot to Tartt. Might mean the coaching staff think he isnt healthy enough or have concerns about his abilities from what theyve seen so far. Or...maybe they just want another STer. We could possibly take on both Wilcox and Harris with Ward and Moore doubling as CBs and backup FS

They must be optimistic about Jimmy Ward handling the move from safety to CB to get another safety to replace what they lost at safety with Ward's transition.

My guess is, Wilcox was the cheaper one. Could be good veteran depth, I'm not all that confident in Tartt to stay healthy a full 16 games.

No bc JJ will probably not even make the team. Why bring in Reid and the baggage that will come with him only to cut in in August?

Neither one is starting on this defense. Its posssible that Wilcox ends up being a camp body, nothing more.
