Mike McGlinchey-OT-Denver Broncos

This trading him idea is silly. We don't have a glut of talent at tackle. He isn't Kwame Harris or Erik Pears. He's a starting caliber RT who had an awful year. And althiugh I've been a huge supporter for moving Brunskill back to tackle, don't just hand him the starting job which is essentially what is happening if the team traded McGlinchey.

Otherwise, keep him.

Brunskill.

Shon Coleman
This scrub has no value

Really? Shon Coleman? He was on IR in 2019 and opted out last year. He hasn't played a down in the regular season in two years and expect him to start at RT. Thats a hard pass for me.

I'm telling it's gonna be Colton if it happens. They LOVED him in the draft last yr. he was the replacement plan for Joe if we didn't get Trent. Peters/lynch/kyle and their scouts gave him their golden helmet during the draft process

49ers vice president of player personnel Adam Peters recently told The Athletic's Matt Barrows that fifth-round pick Colton McKivitz was one of around 15 potential draftees the team deemed worthy of this "gold helmet" designation.

"Gold helmet is not something we give out a lot," Peters told Barrows. "The person really has to be exemplary, really has to stand out."

Mcg had such a horrible year at pass pro it's hard to think he'll bounce back. Just awful. We can't afford a free agent so no idea what is the way forward.

Watch this pencil neck geek take out three more qb by himself I guess.

He's a good run blocker but that doesn't matter when he gives up 10 yard sacks regularly. You guys value him way too high.

Put a wig on it...

Jet McKinnon might replace him on the cheap

It's a possibility. He wasn't very good this year but maybe just needs to develop. We'll see.

We know 100% Brunskill can play tackle on an island on either side of the line and be okay with run or pass. If McK beats either Brunskill or Coleman out, even better. I just don't agree the depth at tackle is bare without McG especially if we get a high enough pick for him that we use to acquire a top tier QB in this draft.

I like our OLine situation a lot better than in 2017, for sure. But this year is a great year to improve and add to that OLine. I think McGlinchy and Mickivitz are two that (hopefully) can have better games in 2021. I think they are too young to say that they have reached their ceiling and that's it, no more improvement. I think both players can improve their games (both run and pass) and I think the coaching staff is key to that development.

I certainly wouldn't mind a Slater at #12 if he's there and if Mac Jones is already taken. If they can land Trent and possibly Mack **and** draft Slater, that will be one awesome OLIne to protect Jimmy, in my opinion.
He does great in the run game but 10-11mil for a run game specialist in a passing league is a hard pass for me.

The value argument seems to revolve around pass pro being something he should be able to improve. His run blocking is top 5, maybe top 3 at tackle and there is the additional value where he can open up plays other tackles never will be able to.

He's never played guard ever. They had no camp for the most part. No preseason no nothing. I'm not expecting a 5th rd guy to role into a RG spot and dominant day one under the circumstances that they had.

McG isn't gonna get moved IMO. SF wants to run the ball and he's better than anyone at that. They need to get a better RG next to him and need to upgrade center. It's funny that a team that values OL so much called SF about him...maybe he's not as bad as some think....

Only way I see McG gone is if someone offers something dumb for him....people in here b***h wayyy too much about him. His bad plays are bad no doubt, it's not every play like people pretend it is. Throw a QB that's not a freaking UDFA back there and it improves everything.
