ok. i did not watch the first game. did he look bad in the first game.. did he show good improvement from the first to the second game? that is usually what you hope for in rookies

He looked good against the Cowboys too.

I stand corrected...it was Richburg. McG had a good game, and was not the culprit of the two fouls stacked upon one another. Mea culpa. I'm getting too old too fast.

Richburg's penalty was meant for McG. IIRC RIchburg actually makes a clean block, McG had his arms on the outside of his guy keeping him from turning but the ref called it on Richburg who disagreed prompting something along the lines of "lame a$$ zebras" to a ref and gets the second penalty.
I'm cautiously optimistic on McGlinchey. Keep in mind he hasn't faced a good speed edge rusher which is the type of player he struggled against at the college level. I think he has the athleticism and makeup to be a solid starter at both RT and LT in the NFL longterm, BUT I do think he will have some major speed bumps when he faces his first NFL caliber speed edge rusher which is why I'm not getting ahead of myself. This is why it was no surprise to me when he struggled more against one-dimensional guys like Cassius Marsh than other more heralded players.
This guy is the least of my worries as a 49er fan. Your a mean one, Mr. Glinch.

Still can't believe he's staying with #69, but after seeing videos of his antics, the guy is a goofball so #69 is fitting.

This
Andrew Whitworth 2.0 a non fancy 10+ year NFL tackle who will be solid as a rock and key component of the offensive line and the teams offense.

Look at how much the Rams OLine improved adding Whitworth even with him on the decline while the Bengals oline fell apart

Nice.
I really liked this pick. He is someone we need on this line. He is very smart and beyond athletic. He has had some bumps but I dare you to find a rookie Starting O-Lineman who hasn't. It was also very beneficial for him to really get baptized by fire by working with JJ Watt. Only going to help him.

VERY good call!

Agree

He would have gone to the Raiders in the very next pick for sure.

IMO, VERY smart pick in the rebuilding process.

I recall when many in the Zone panned the Staley pick and said we could have waited and got some slug named Ugoh[sp] who was an epic fail.
Too bad Watt didn't play.

He practiced against him last week during the joint practices. Watt didn't play in the game but McG was against him all day in 11-11s and 1-1s.
