We don't really know. But Lynch said on TV that he is "optimistic"...but he's literally said that about everybody.
Swelling from the PRP should be gone by now. Though, PRP induced healing generally doesn't occur (if it does at all) until 4-6 weeks after the injection.
what is all that and when does that take place?
?? He got the PRP injection 10 days or so ago.
i wasnt aware of that? thanks for letting me know

McKinnon seems like a good candidate to start the season on IR with a designation to return after week 6.

I think he has to be out 8 weeks. PUP is six weeks. And he is no longer eligible for PUP.
Seems like IR would be a tremendous waste when he SHOULD be back by week 3.

You're probably right. I don't know about week 3 though. Nothing has led me to believe he's ready to go anytime soon.

Well, his knee is fully healed. The doctors would never let him touch the field if his knee wasn't 100%. The issue he is dealing with (and will deal with for the rest of his life) is chronic inflammation. It's just how his body responds. So...IF the PRP treatment were to work... he should be feeling good in a couple weeks.

This is why you don't pay tons of money to someone who hasn't proven themselves yet. I feel the same about jimmy tho with QBs if you feel like you can get one you have to, money be damned.
With the way we rotate backs, why pay someone to be a feature back?

Jimmy's contract is actually a bargain by today's standards. It was heavily front loaded and after this season the Niners can cut him prior to next April and not be on the hook for much money. Not saying they will but it's a very team friendly contract.

This also means he's been paid a ton of money upfront and hasn't proven a thing.

Pretty much this, football is a violent sport I'm fine with guys getting paid. I'll never hate on a player who gets a serious injury. I would still love to see his skill set in this offense...hopefully we can.
