I bet some of the coaches and players who passed on us are kicking themselves right now. Anyone still have any doubts about the Shanny/Lynch hire?

Well, I got to admit, I didn't see this coming, but it seems Kyle and Bellicheat's talk after the Super Bowl might have triggered this. I mean Kyle is seriously beefing up his defensive coaching staff.

Norton was a monster on run plays. He coming from Dallas to the Niners soothed a bit the Charles Haley trade.

And then they took deion lol

Deion is a f**king whore

Ooh...if they coulda just found a way to keep the entire core of the the 1994 team together for one more year. We'd be on a quest for 7. That team was a juggernaut.

Yea it kinda bugs me that ricky watters played more seasons for the seahawks than he did the 49ers

Man there is some wholesale changes going on. Stan Kwan was assistant special teams coach, I wonder where he's going to go now. Mike McDaniel was the former run game specialist, where does he go now?

McDaniel is Bros with shanahan doubt he's going anywhere.
One of my personal all time favorite free agency hires. He brought much needed attitude to that D and smacked Emitt Smith around. Glad he's back.

McDaniel will be the Niners next OC, he's Kyles right hand man.

No it doesn't.

It means he gets a different pay structure than a typical position coach. It also means he will get exposure to the offensive gameplan and have some input. It doesn't mean he calls defensive plays or answers directly to the HC.
Ah yeeah boooi, niners building up this organization from coaches to players, i'm so dam excited for next season.

Title of assistant HC means that he had other offers. Thus, the Niners gave him more "responsibility"(aka cash).

This. That is ALL it means.

The '94 Team was strictly a short term juggernaut...it was cobbled together (especially on defense) with a lot of short-term, frontloaded contracts for one purpose: DETHRONE DALLAS

The cost was the seeds for the late-90's/early-2000's salary cap hell were sown irrevocably

Team also lucked out in the draft in '94 (BY, Floyd, Woodall), but after that had mediocre drafts that didn't have blue chip returns, apart from TO

meh

of course

Oakland LBs were some of the worst coached units in the league until he got fired.

He was the DC, not the LB coach.

This.

Garoppolo/McDaniels >>> Brady/McDaniels

I think Holland's promotion is on defensive side.

That makes a lot of sense. He was WR's coach before being an offensive assistant in Atlanta. Looks like Kyle's not messing around.

I seem to remember that being the result of Gabe Wilkins and the like in the late 90's
