Honestly... just bring back Singletary just to mentor Foster cuz that what most we're hoping Norton would provide. Hand Mike, the title of 'Life Coach,' and watch Foster get his crap together.

Just don't let Singletary anywhere near the field

Singletary to coach LBs, Tomsula to coach D line, and the great Jerry Sullivan to coach receivers .

Rumor? By who? Link?

I doubt that's why he left. Unless there's a link with a source, it's all speculation

It's just utter nonsense ... KNJ left for a bigger/better gig, that's all. He's looking out for himself/family, I don't blame him / his decision
This is great news because he sucked as DC in Oakland.

Although I think you posted this in gist … that is not the reason.
I crashed early yesterday, and woke to this news. Evidently, he had an out in the contract with the 49ers:

"Last week, Ken was presented with an opportunity to once again coordinate a defense", Shanahan said.
"Because of how we feel about Ken as a coach, we understand and respect his desire to pursue the position".

Shanahan publicly may be saying all the right things, but I wonder how he really feels about this. The whole
point of the Assistant Coach title, was so the 49ers FO, could justify the salary he was to be paid (IMO).

Personally, I think the move was short sighted … and although each of us charts our own course in life,
I think time will prove he made a mistake career wise.

So to borrow a phrase from my parents generation, here's to the 49ers, Stomping the Seahawks into
Smithereens, each and every time we play them moving forward. If that smacks of a person jilted at
the alter, then so be it !

To your last bullet point … why not?
He was on the field in B'more, as well as in San Francisco, as a LB Coach.
Not a Head Coach (true), but the man knows the LB'ing position !

Unprofessional at this level.
