Title of assistant HC means that he had other offers. Thus, the Niners gave him more "responsibility"(aka cash).

Me as well. He had a promising front seven with Mack,Ellis,Edwards, Bowman, Irvin but his schemes were mediocre at best. Personally he should stay as ILB coach then "groom" Foster but also work with Demeco Ryans to become the next DC
