our tackling was so so poor. i am not one on great players making great coaches but norton is a good good coach in my opinion

What's that about trusting Saleh....
Yeah, you definitely can read into it that Saleh's on the hot seat this season. But that's just one way of looking at it.

I think it can also be simply upgrading and getting more experienced and talented coaching personnel to add to the current staff. You can never have too many good coaches, even if they are assistant water boy coach.

That was my first 9er game. I was seated in that endzone. Had my Norton jersey that day and he autographed it for me.

I guess you didn't watch the Raiders tackle if that's the case.

I think you're really only on board with this bc its a former 49er that you recognize. Bc anyone else from anywhere else is subject to nothing but pessimism from you.

Stark change from how I first remember you on this board.

St. Louis. Final game played at Busch stadium. The game was supposed to be in the brand new dome but it wasn't ready that game. Norton returned two int's for TD's. That was his first one.

Just a side bar -- anyone watch atl vs LAR? Any one besides me INSANELY JEALOUS of all that great text book tackling shown by the ATL defensive backfield all game long? Wow. I was so envious. Three yard gains stayed three yard gains. Five yards stayed five yards. Always downhill, wrapping the waist. Great chit. Reminded me of back in the day.

Just sayin.
Great pick up, no other LB coach would fit us any better.. another wise move by Lynch to offer him assistant HC to the Defense..
Congrats Ken Norton

Love this hire. Wasn't great as raiders DC but he did an awesome job w Seattle's LBs

Also a great job in college as LB's coach at USC
Oh yeah...I thought this might happen, glad it did. He'll have a ball coaching up Foster. Also gives Shanahan & Saleh a senior coach to rely on.
Everything about this seems like another step towards where we need to go.
I hope Smith is still on the board at 9/10.
