Seriously we've been building through the draft since forever and all it has gotten us is rebuild after rebuild

Exactly. I don't recall folks saying that about Jamarcus Russell. They just called him a bust

This. Remember, the newly formed FO had just a few weeks to prepare for FA and the draft last year. And they did one hell of a job!

Now they've had all this time together as a team. I can't wait to see what's next.

All they have to do is find the next Fred Dean/Charles Haley/Aldon Smith, and you pretty much get an A+ from me. Then again, I don't watch college ball.

This offseason, if they do as well or better than last years draft, I can see us hitting the playoff scene next year. Get that edge rusher, more O Linemen to keep Jimmy's jersey clean, and some more ground and air weapons for the guy and sky's the limit in my opinion!

I hear you, NC, although I think the jury is still out on Pettis and Street. It does appear the 2018 draft choices are better than 2017, but it doesn't seem likely that the front office, as it is currently configured, can draft their way out of this. That would require a huge jump in competence and performance. I like the idea of hiring Scot McCloughan as a consultant for this draft. Larry krueger of KNBR suggested this several weeks ago and I'm on board with it.

Dude seriously...what is your issue with Pettis? You claim to be joking around in the other thread but then you post stuff like that and it makes it hard to take you seriously on the subject.

Pettis as a rookie led the team in TD receptions, was 20 yards away from leading the team in yards by a WR while playing in 4 games less than Bourne who was the leader and a team leading 17.2 YPC from anyone who had more than 5 receptions.

How are you calling that a wasted pick?

You're going to nag on a rookie? one who has showed a lot of promise if healthy.

Easily the best WR we've had all year. cant' wait to see him year 2.

im not saying he's a #1, but he's a good 2 or 3. his route running is legit.

if only we had a #1 WR for once.

But yet you don't throw out guys like Trent Taylor, or Bourne? surprised you're not saying Richie James was a bad pick

I like the guy as a ball catcher. I like the guy as route runner. But hes a pipsqueek who will never play a full season in the nfl.
