Looks like the Giants can cut him without any dead money.
The suspension for conduct detrimental to the team will wipe out his otherwise guaranteed compensation for 2018 and 2019. Which means that the Giants can cut Apple and owe him nothing.

In a situation like this, it is great to have John Lynch making the final call. He knows what it takes to be a player and what the character of that player must be like in order for it to be worth the risk.

Except that GM had been there forever. So not really right away. Giants fans were complaining about his poor drafting and personnel moves for years.
