So another domino dropped? My guess: Still no interest in a trade.

Idk. I'd say Papa Johns is probably worse

I'm not as concerned as some are about JG going to Seattle but if the Niners are then they should try and make that deal with the Giants (if it was real). At least they can keep him away from Seattle if they're worried. If they hang on waiting for some QB to get hurt, they could end up just releasing him. Then they have no control over where he goes.
I wonder how much interest Seattle would have. Even if he's an upgrade over what they have, he's not enough of one to make a big difference. They didn't make the playoffs last year even with Wilson so what's Jimmy going to do behind that bad O line. They play a tougher schedule than we do this year. I say that because I consider the Niners a tougher opponent for them then they will be for the Niners. Maybe they win 2 more games with him. Just enough to keep them from getting one of the top QBs in next years draft.

Not sure if realistic but would like to get either Tyrod or a lineman (DL or OL) back in the deal.

Stuffed crust I agree. Pan is gross dripping with oil.

We just signed Deebo so at this point how does having Jimmy's contract under the cap really hurt the team

Well no Cleveland for Jimmy. About out of options. I suspect this is what Lynch was waiting for and will make a decision soon. My vote is either trade him to the Giants or release him at the final cut and let him go to Seattle without any chance to learn the whole offense before week 2.

How the f**k does this question continue to come up? Regardless if we need it this year or not CAP SPACE ROLLS OVER.

Because that money rolls over. You also need cash to go into the season with for in-season moves. In no world should you be paying a backup $27M. Jimmy doesn't want to be here and wants to go play football.

Should we hold on to Jimmy up to the deadline in the hope that another QB gets injured?
And Rather than cut him why not give him to the Giants or Texans for a 7th rounder next year just to keep him from going to Seattle?
Not a good look for the front office to simply cut him now and have him end up in Seattle.
