We will end up settling for a 3rd rounder for JG so that we at least get something a little better than the compensatory pick we will get if he leaves via free agency.

No point cutting him now after waiting this long. We can always cut before Week 1 at some point. If something happens to TL or another QB around the league he may have more value than presently.

This front office likes to keep their good young players grounded. Just say Lance is looking good and that he has work to do, which is basically what Lynch said. The flip side would be to say something like, "he's going to be great, just watch" - that doesn't help anything.
