Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Has Jimmy Franchise been thrown in...

"He's a grinder, like most, great quarterbacks in this NFL have to be. I appreciate his work ethic. He's a first-one-in, last-one-to-leave kind of guy."

Not unlike the previous qb we have had. But it sounds like he's more into the mental aspect of the game, not so much the physical since he already has that.

Cut it out. It was widely reported and known that Kaepernick has a fantastic work ethic. Literally every coach he's had has commended him for it publicly. We can praise Garoppolo without making stuff up to knock another QB.

I know that he works hard. But … it's dealing with the things that make you more of a complete player.

And I would say 'Mike, if I go over it again, I'm going to explode.' He's like 'Just one more time. I go 'OK, just one more time.' I learned the lesson of that's how you embed it into your brain. I get the feeling that Garoppolo loves the detail and the data, the miniscule things that combine to make you a great QB.

Not sure I would include Wilson on this list. Although he is great, he is not a Shanahan QB. No Brady either because of the age factor.

My takeaways from that article:

1. He's now 5–0 as a starter, the first quarterback to win his first five starts since Ben Roethlisberger in 2004.
2. Garoppolo has thrown for at least 293 yards in each of his 49ers starts, setting a franchise record for passing yards in a QB's first three games. (Eat it, Joe Montana and Steve Young.) Imagine if he had the receivers they had, in Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Terell Owens.
3. The 49ers have gone three-and-out only once in his three starts. Impressive, did not know this.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I didn't mean necessarily to fit our offense. I mean in general as a top NFL QB.

I think sitting behind one of the best Qb's for 3-4 years and arguably the best coach has something to do with his poise and how he handles situations. Maybe the Patriot way will rub off on us

Similar to Young sitting behind Joe Montana.
Similar to Aaron Rodgers sitting behind Brett Farve.

Keapernick got thrown into the wolves and he almost came out with a ring.. Keapernick never sat behind greatness for 3-4 years..

No need to throw stones at him. Two different animals and situations.

With all due respect to Jimmy Gorgeous, we know Kaps record in the playoffs if we really want to get down to it?

It was a simple contrast in what type of work was put in. But take it as you will.

I can give you that all day. That's fair.

But Kap did it his first year, Nfc Champion.

Jimmy has it all, don't get me wrong but when we start contending, will we be 1st round knock outs for a year or two then compete for a championship?

Fact is we don't know, playoffs is a whole different platform with different grading system as far as the intensity and pressure on these Qb's. We can talk about pocket presence til we are blue in the face, my point is that Kap did it early and took us far, for whatever reasons he was the Qb.

Kap gave us a banner, Just saying. Let's pump the brakes that's all.

I'm just as thrilled as everyone else but let's not go overboard by sending shots.
