2) Trey is himself. We've seen the kind of kid Trey was before he ever set foot here.

Brady is Brady, Jimmy is Jimmy, Trey is Trey. I'm not going to suddenly act like the Greatest QB Ever gets all the credit for Jimmy being a cool dude with how many years Jimmy spent under him.

And in much the same way, I'm not going to pretend like Jimmy gave birth to Trey since in Trey's 1 year here he seems to conduct himself well.

3) The players loving him and rallying around him says alot more about the players that's been brought in here than it does about Jimmy. Loving your teammates is a good thing to do if your goal is to win.

4) I don't see him as a guy that greatly increases the morale of a team. You do that with great play on the field or great actions the other 6 days a week,...neither of which I can say he provides to a team. I'd think that's an extremely large exaggeration to make.

He is -- however -- a likeable guy that comes in and is not trying to garner all of the credit for himself while deflecting blame to his teammates. That's not greatly increasing the morale of a team,....that's just not f**king the morale up.

Let Jimmy make some of the same throws he's made on a bad team with already-crummy morale, and I can pretty much guarantee you the morale would stay low.

From what I've seen in Mic'd Up sections, Jimmy's an effective leader on gameday. When he's in the huddle, he's very clear in relaying the playcall and whatever needs to be said. He doesn't strike me as a rah rah type of guy, but yeah… he says what needs to be said.

And from what I can glean from interviews about Jimmy and the locker room culture… Jimmy's very professional in the way he prepares and works, week in and week out.

People always talk about intangibles like they're this mystical element on the team… I don't see it like that, but rather, see Jimmy's leadership as "leadership by example."

It's no surprise to me that the 2019 and 2021 teams got stronger as the season went on because the team, as a whole, just continued to grind and get better. Shanahan gets credit for that. Lynch gets credit for that. A lot of the team leaders get credit for that… and Jimmy was one of those guys.

I imagine if he goes to a team that has some talent… it might not happen overnight, but I could definitely see Jimmy rubbing off on others with the way he prepares weekly and I can see that having a positive effect on the team.

I hope something happens prior to March - the waiting is killing me.

The Rams don't have much of a fanbase, so it's really nice to see fans from other teams go to bat for their players

Grrr how dare we say Stafford is a good QB. I think Rogers is a good QB does that make me a packers fan? I think Brady is a great QB does that make me a NE fan?

I hated Sherm for years BUT realized he was damn good.

Stafford really deified the odds when he went to a team filled with pro bowlers/ all pros and counting on both sides of the ball. Who would've thought a good QB could win a SB with those odds against a team they were 4.5 favorites against ?!? True underdog story

This is gold. Sums up the Ram praise going around quite well. Imagine logging on after a Seattle win and praising the Hawks or something I can't imagine

Yeah we get it they are good. Doesn't mean I have to polish their crown. But hey we went 2-1 vs these guys. Next year let's sweep em show em who is boss.

Is "gold" slang for untrue? The Rams absolutely did not have pro bowlers and all pros on both sides of the ball. AJ making stuff up as usual.

Lol. Whitworth is a 4 time pro bowl LT. They have likely 3 HOF defenders. Miller, Donald and Ramsey. You are verifiably false. Care to retract?

The 49ers have two HoF olinemen. Have one of the top TEs and the Top WR/playmaker. (Yes, Deebo is better than Kupp. If the 49ers had a top QB you'd see what he could really produce.)

Donald clearly better than what the 49ers have at DT, but the 49ers have lots of talent and depth in the front 7.

Stafford is a better QB than JimmyG and that's not an arguable point. However, the Rams really struggled to win the SB and could have just easily lost rather than won in all three playoff games.

I don't see them repeating. I do think the 49ers have a good young core. They do need to find some CBS. They also need upgrades on the OL. Not sure how much more Alex Mack has in the tank.

Wow, so triggered by the slightest praise and positivity.

One thing that Jimmy provides that not many others in his tier of qbs do is change the culture of a franchise. Yeah he isn't the best qb, but his intangibles and charisma helps the team as a whole perform better. You sell that to teams well enough and we can get a nice haul.

I dont see him as a guy that greatly increases the morale of the team or anything like that. Culturally, he's more of the type that conforms and fits in like a jigsaw puzzle piece.

The players love him and rally around him, he is a leader of men.

Trey probably picked up on a lot of that and will carry the torch.

Kyle and John get most of the credit for the culture though.
Jimmy is our Rudy

In more ways than one :)
Jimmy isn't really a leader. He's more like a good personality that fits in with the crew. I think that's why he just doesn't have that "get on my back" mentality.

There is a real difference between the traditional sense of "leadership" in what Jimmy does for this team in organizing, executing and influencing the team to follow his lead vs that "Get on my back" mentality which is a more singular achievement. Both can win but the 2nd requires a uniquely special talent like a J.Allen Unicorn and even he couldn't advance his team.
All of these "opinions" as to who or what Jimmy really is or isn't. As if anyone in here is actually qualified to know. I swear it just never stops

I'm sorry it offends you when people share their opinions on a message board.

?

8 years in a league, I think everyone by now has a pretty good idea of who he is.

And welcome to message boards lol.

I mean, this is counter to everything people say about him in the locker room and in the huddle, but aight…
