Yep, this is why I wanted to play the Bucs.

This is the Jimmy thread, but since you want to bring up other QBs in here.
Kap wasn't good enough for you, but was damn sure better than Jimmy for us in the playoffs.... so Trey just needs to play better than Kap or close to him in the playoffs. With how the playoff structure is now, we should have no issues making the playoffs. Performing when we get there is what's important. Jimmy's career 4tds 6ints post season record doesn't cut it.
Similar to what Trey has done most of his life. Protecting the ball, and making big plays when they are there. Run if needed. He doesn't have to be perfect. I think he'll do well.
This is true. I wasn't the biggest kap fan. But come playoff time he was the reason we won some games. Jimmy's been the equipment manager and he can't even put the correct jock straps in the damn lockers.

Dude, Garapollo qb ratings in the playoffs say it all. It was awful and Lance couldn't have done worse.

This SHOULD be Jimmy's last game. My opinion after all couple seasons is this:
Jimmy took us as far as he could take us. We were a better team because of him. It never showed up on the stat sheet, but I'm firmly of the belief that his leadership and poise is what got the team playing its very best and why he IS a winning QB. Very very grateful that Jimmy has been our QB.
But in the end, he had a ceiling. The passing offense was literally crossing/slant routes, checkdowns, and screens. He rarely ever had throws to the sidelines and deep. I'm actually surprised we were as successful an offense as we were. I feel we certainly could've won with him, but we would've needed to stack our defense even more. Maybe if Verrett never got injured, we could've won with Jimmy this year… but who knows.
We're going to miss his efficiency and those long sustained drives, but ultimately, we made the move to Trey so we can have a more dynamic, explosive option.

49ers Jimmy Garoppolo went 3 for 9 for 30 yards and INT in 4th quarter.
In 6 playoff starts Garoppolo has a 28.0 passer rating in the 4th, ranking last among 69 QBs w/ 30+ 4th quarter passes in playoffs since 1991

U can't be serious...
I know right, there's just no way he can play perfect football.
I mean the bar here has been set about shin high for qb play. Pretty sure trey can step over that
So you're saying the 49ers SHOULD have two NFC Championship appearances with him??
But but but Jimmy's a winner right🤣🤣🤣
Hey two NFC Championships in what three seasons. Not bad I'd say thats a winner right there. How many QB's can say that in the NFL!!

You knew he wouldn't get it done. He had a good game for Jimmy today. Basically 250 yards a TD or two and a turnover. That's like par for the course for him.
Sure the bar is exceptionally low given today NFL but he had an average game. Expecting him to win 4 games in a row against good teams is wishing on a star.
He would have just choked in the Superbowl even if he slipped by today.

Same. The Ravens loss was the worst for me by far, followed by the Chiefs Super Bowl and then the Seahawks NFCCG. This one...rough, but the team was playing on house money and living on a dream for the second half of the season. Hard to be too mad.
