a major mistake by this franchise if they trade or kill him this weekend in my opinion

Lol. "If he dies, he dies". I think they should keep him as the starter this year for sure. There's just so much noise about him being traded now. If he were to get traded now I wouldn't mind it being for Gilmore. I'd love that trade. Some people wouldn't. Keeping Jimmy this year and giving the rookie a year to learn would be what I'd do though. There's risk of Jimmy's value decreasing throughout this year though. More so than keeping his value or building on it

Maybe Jimmy goes onto another team, have a HOF career ...

Jimmy's situation is nothing close to Drew Brees on San Diego.

Lol this

They drafted Rivers #4th overall when Brees was still on the team. Played until he got a shoulder injury and then went to NO.

Jimmy expected to play 2021 with the #3 pick on the team. And we all expect Jimmy to move on like Brees.

i think it means all the difference between a 4th rounder which i bet is what we could get now and a second rounder which is what i hope we get next year after he has a good year with us...... ok.. maybe we get a third rounder today for him
all these QB needy teams didn't want to give up a 4th for JG.. yeah right

it's first round or nothing. We are not desperate to get rid of him

i do not mind people dieing as long as its the right people. but jimmy is the wrong person to die cuz i think he gives us our best chance to win this coming year compared to a rookie.. no matter who the rookie is

according to 5_Golden_Rings, Jimmy has zero trade value and should be cut

If someone is posting that, you don't give that post the time of day as it's not worth spending any time over.

Sounds similar to me. Only Jimmy ain't no Brees! Hopefully whomever we get at 3 ain't no Rivers either

i was just speculating on his realistic value based on his small body of work and injury history,,, if a team is desperate then maybe they give us a second this weekend. but i am very much opposed to trading him this weekend or anytime this year

The same could be said about his value decreasing if he plays poorly or gets hurt again.

Same as my post above. Value could decline as well

Agreed. Any of these rookie QBs would benefit sitting for a year. IMO it's always best to sit the rookie year 1 unless they're the only starting level QB on the team which is most often the case.

Come pick four today. JG is going to be the most desired available unavailable QB in YEARS!
We supremely overpaid just to draft a QB because our current QB can't stay healthy. But, there's no guarantee that the new starting QB can stay healthy either. If this team values QB availability so highly, it would behoove them to keep Jimmy despite the opportunity cost in draft capital and salary

If the Pats miss out on the top 5 QBs I could see them trading their second rounder for Jimmy

Edit: Anything less than that and I think Jimmy stays this year. If he's still here after this weekend he's a lock for 2021. IMO

AllTheTime, your last sentence here - couldn't agree more. I don't want them to trade Garoppolo this offseason but if they did, make a team pay up for him - a 1st or nothing (and thus would probably be nothing, which again is fine because this team needs him this year IMO).
