I'm a jimmy fan, but will you be a 49ers fan if they get rid of him?

Of course, one thing about me though if I support that QB you don't see me flip flopping back and fourth in support, like some on here. I can actually say I probably defended Ken Dorsey more than I did Jimmy G, it's probably because everyone was on his jock when he was winning no need to defend him.

You might want to wait til week 4 before you start to smile because in addition to being average he's also fragile as f.

And so what, if he gets injured that's football. You're not gonna catch me whining like a little b***h because of it. If they release Jimmy G or trade him so be it, cause I know they'll have a solution afterwards.

If we stick with JG, I would like for 49ers to snag Cam Newton or Sam Darnold (back up) if available regardless of what we do in the draft.

Why on gods green earth would you want cam Newton? I watched a handful of his games last season and it honestly looked like he never played QB in his life at times and was learning how to throw the ball.

I prefer Darnold, but I just think Cam could be better back up than Mullens or Beathard.

However, I just realized that I really don't GAF about Cam's wardrobe and f'k his interviews so yeah, nvr mind (get Darnold)

Why the need to defend any player is what I'm getting at. Teams don't give a damn and players don't give a damn.. it's all a business and that business is taking our money.

I would love to see Quinnen Williams dive into your legs and call you injury prone for getting hurt. 🤡

What ever the cause for injury, he's still not on the field

Well it's good that we're finally getting some common ground on the QB solution. So far we have narrowed it down to......
1. Keep Jimmy and train up Rosen
2. Keep Jimmy and trade back for a project such as Trask or Jones or Lance or Mond or Ridder
3. Keep Jimmy and trade up for Zach Wilson
4. Keep Jimmy and trade up for Justin Fields
5. Get rid of Jimmy and trade up for either of those 2
6. Get rid of Jimmy and do a trade for Sam Darnold
7. Get rid of Jimmy and trade for Deshaun Watson
8. Get rid of Jimmy and trade for Matthew Stafford
9. Get rid of Jimmy and trade for Carson Wentz
10. Get rid of Jimmy and trade for Dak Prescott

I've probably missed a few but I'm glad we've got that sorted

Hm i don't know if either are a good fit for our system, I think cam would be a disaster in our system. Darnold is still too raw because I don't think he has been developed at all by Gase - so I wouldn't be upset if he was our backup but he was a high draft pick still on his rookie contract, that's a lot to pay a backup.

I will say that Mullens and Beathard could be upgraded though. Especially beathard. I was hoping after so many years in our system with our coaches that he would improve but he hasn't.
I'm perfectly happy with keeping Jimmy for next year and seeing what happens - I still have a lot of belief in him, it's just been really unfortunate with his injuries and all the injuries to the team. I haven't seen any data to back this up but I wouldnt be surprised if the San Francisco 49ers 2020 season was one of the worst for any football team ever injury wise.

I am intrigued by a trade for Watson though. I wanted us to draft Watson sooo bad that year. I think he's proven he can be a top QB in this league and I think him and Shanahan would be a deadly combo. No idea what it would take for us to get him but its very interesting.
Keep jimmy and draft his replacement

If drafting a replacement was easy - teams wouldn't go years to decades without a top QB

Just because it ain't easy doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Jimmy is a solid work within the system guy. He will operate an offense that is built up with talent. I don't think he has the ability to perform with less. To me this means he needs to adjust his pay accordingly but, it doesn't mean he can't win a Superbowl. Personally I think Brady is one of the most average qbs out there. Hes just consistent and makes sure he's got a solid team around him.

I say if you got a qb you think you can develop fall to us in round 1, pull the trigger. Then focus on OL. If not wait till next year but we need better talent along our interior. One Jimmy is better with more time. Two our offense is so run game heavy that OL is a no brainer. Three, if we do get a young qb you have good protection for him if you have to throw em to the wolves early. Best to learn the game with solid protection.
