As a unit, and that's the fair way to judge them, not individually, they are surely above average. Now particularly with Trent Williams on board.

I've seen rankings of between 13 -16 in pass blocking but usually top 5 or better in run blocking. That makes them a solid top ten line when they're all healthy. Pass blocking should be better this season with Williams being an upgrade over a beat up Staley and improved mobility for Jimmy should help him evade the rush a little better. Maybe they get into the top ten in pass blocking this year.

He was 7 minutes from a super bowl. I don't think he's a weak link. Having said that, I think he can improve a lot and get much stronger. He basically cruised through two playoff teams with not much problems at all last year. Once he faced an elite QB in the super bowl, is when some of his roughness showed up. To me, that means he's pretty close to being elite, in a sense.

As usual,...the math here is skewed way off,....of course in favor of the current player you are defending.

2 gaurds play at a time,....whereas 1 QB plays at a time. A QB being Top 20 would correlate to a guard being Top 40.

I mean Wilson has more or less played backyard ball more than Jimmy has his entire career. The big difference is that Wilson leaned on that run game and defense far more than Jimmy has.

What Jimmy did in 2017 with the 49ers many would consider him being extra mobile and off script.............by Wilson's standards that's playing in the pocket.

Man, I can't wait to see the pinnacle of James Richard Garoppolo. It's so frustrating the wait given the outsider hate........

Agree, love to rub it into the east coast media talking heads and make them pay attention. A lot of these media corporations are going out of business, they are so poor they can't even pay attention.
