Jimmy Garoppolo's peers (players) have voted him the 43rd best player in NFL (there are roughly 2,000 players). This should settle debate re: whether he's good or not.
What happens next on the field will tell us whether Garoppolo is great or not. That's the unanswered question
Sorry for the lengthy hiatus, folks. But, I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Nice top 5 jonnydel. I think my favorite from that 5 is the anticipation throw to Sanders vs PPeterson. There wasn't any separation before the throw but Jimmy still let it rip. PP didn't even realize when the ball flew by his face.
Cover 1, PP wanted to play with outside leverage to funnel towards the deep safety. Sanders' juke at the line made PP lose outside leverage and allowed Sander's outside breaking route to win. We talk about reading coverage a lot, but reading leverage is such an important skill for a QB that wants to throw with confidence vs man coverage.. Can't wait for the next top 5.
A little off topic but also a nice pancake block by our future starting RG on that last throw.
But that anticipated throw to Sanders stood out to me the whole season. It was a thing of beauty. Lehhss Gooo Niners!!

If you don't think he's good, I don't know what to tell you.
If you don't think he's great, that's understandable. The book is still out on that.
But you can't look at the wins/losses, stats, and leading a team to a super bowl in his first season as a starter, and tell me he's not a very good QB.
