it's really outdated and kinda useless

The one non injury knock on Jimmy's game is his deep ball. Credit to Kyle, in this game, there were many plays were multiple receivers were open and every time, Jimmy chose the shorter pass. I wonder if that is because he didn't see the deep route open, if he trusts his intermediate throws more than his deep ball, he feels there is no need to vertically stretch the field the way our defense is playing, or a combination of the 3. I wonder if this is something Kyle wants him to improve on or if he is satisfied with the high percentage 15 yard chunk plays instead of the low percentage possible homeruns.

I think it's a little in between. Kyle probably wants him to take a few shots a game but mostly take the underneath stuff and intermediate plays that often result in chunk gains. There's something to be said about slow methodical ball control style offenses that wears out a defense. Sure u can go for the home run, but the 15 yard plays still get u there and u have worn those guys down. Not saying if there's someone 20 yards beyond the D he shouldn't take it tho (See Goodwin vs Bengals), but I like what Jimmy is doing and I bet Kyle does too minus the INT's.
where are all the Jimmy Gesus haters now? dude b ballin

What's outdated about it? It takes all the QB stats and gets it down to one number. That one number then can be compared to the league average and show how a QB was performing. It's not the only number to take in to account but it has value.

Jimmy is 3rd in YPA, only behind Dak and Mahomes. So saying he always chooses the shorter route isn't telling the whole story. His deep ball accuracy may not be all that great but he's pretty damn elite in the short to intermediate range.

I don't think Jimmy G. has a good deep ball. I've seen QBs that can wing it, and Jimmy G. can't hold a candle to them.

Don't get me wrong; I'm a huge Jimmy G. fan. Joe didn't have a good deep ball at first, either. It took years and working with his receivers, and then getting Jerry Rice, who gave him lots of opportunities. (In the Jan. '82 NFCCG against the Cowboys, two of Joe's three INTs on the day were underthrown long balls, when Walsh was trying to take advantage of the Cowboys defense on the field for those plays.) It didn't stop Joe from dominating with precise medium and short passes in the early years of The Dynasty.

in measuring a qb's performance, its really not the best metric to use. id rather use a pff grade
Honestly idgaf about stats. I know jimmy g is really good at going through his progressions, he can stand there take a hit and still complete passes, and is good at pre-snap reads.

The only negative is he's sometimes too quick to release that ball before fully diagnosing the coverage, but that's easily coached.

You guys are simply clueless lol. There is a reason Jay Cutler flamed out of the league never having accomplished jacks**t but made a boatload of money. Because he got the fans loving him for whatever reason and he stunk it up on the field as a leader/commander of men.

Something about 49er fans not being able to evaluate what a good QB is. It started back in 2005 and hasn't changed one bit here. I mean before the season started there were 49er homers arrogantly proclaiming Jimmy was a better thrower of the football than Mahomes. LOL.

49er fans are delusional when it comes to QBs. I will never forget for years and years 49er fans swearing that had we drafted Aaron Rodgers he would have been a bust......as if talent doesn't rise to the top like cream.

I will come back to this when Jimmy fails to bring this team back late in the 4th of an important game this season because he has little fight in him and would rather bang pornstars and drive nice cars than try and be as the great Kyler Murray said today "the best ever to play the game...."

#neverforget
A A ron was kinda the same situation Jimmy G was in 2night and threw a int.

Clutchness doesn't show up on the stats sheet.

Well you see the difference here is that Jimmy backed his throw with personality.
