He just needs more games. That was only his 11th start with a major injury in between. We need to keep perspective on this. The biggest problem I saw yesterday was his timing with the receivers. Other than Kittle, his timing was a little off with the other receivers. His throws were a little behind which causes the receiver to slow up when he reaches back. There really weren't a lot of throws to the receivers other than Kittle and I'm thinking that might be because he doesn't have the timing down yet.

The rust was more than I expected. The issues should be fixable with time. Of biggest concern to me were the accuracy issues when he had receivers open, and what I viewed as a very tempered confidence level. I imagine the 2 go hand in hand. Make throws gain confidence. But I did not see the jump on my back I'll carry you to victory Jimmy G of 2017. Perhaps that's the knee brace. The speed of the game. Rust. A combo of all. But, we're working it out 1-0. That's better than the alternative.

Yeah, he needs to just keep playing - he'll get better with the more reps he gets with his receivers.

Yeah, I saw that - he's not going to take his wild passes.

Shanahan needs to burn that s**tty play from his playbook. Why does he keep locking eyes when he doesn't have nearly the rocket to fit the ball in there before the corner jumps the route. Good god, my high hopes for this dude keeps getting lower and lower. If Jimmy fails this season, Shanahan needs the boot. Keep Lynch kick Shanahan out. I want to see Jimmy run an actual offense like he ran in New England and not this horsecrap that Shanahan is force-feeding down this organization's throat.
This dude could have drafted Watson/Trubisky/Mahomes when we actually desperately needed a QB but chose CJ Beathard instead because he "fit" his system. A system that only Matt Ryan has excelled at.
Praying Jimmy works out but man this is disappointing.
No one's asking for Mahomes stats but for god's sake when you are still making the same rookie mistakes and throwing the same type of pick 6's from 2017 after you get tens of millions guaranteed it's not a good fkn look. Almost like dude doesn't give a s**t, which is already the vibe everyone gets from the dude just watching him on the sidelines. Kyler Murray looked more upset on the sidelines today because of a tie than I've ever seen Jimmy G look. I'm starting to think he really doesn't give a s**t about football.
Maybe they can hire Hue Jackson and sign DeShone Kizer?![]()

Dude is going to be a cross between Peyton Manning and Cam Newton. Book it.

Cannot wait until this crap regime is out. I wanted this dude back in April soo bad and seeing his poise, accuracy in the pocket yesterday reminded me of Luck/Peyton. Makes me sick that this FO elected to tank a season for no good reason.
Guarantee you, Kizer is the truth. Every week you will see it.

Hue Jackson helped both a rookie Dalton/Flacco to start right away. He's also going to design their offense to protect Kizer as much as possible.
Wouldn't be surprised if Kizer wins OROY or the Browns push for a wildcard spot.
Sadly we could have drafted Kizer...

Meanwhile, Kizer is 21 years old and only played 2 seasons in college and yet he's already the starter. If Hue thinks he's ready then that's saying something. I'd say he's already the best rookie QB.
It has nothing to do with him being some "flashy athlete".
Has to do with him being a general that can lead and make a group of men play better under his command.
Add leadership to his qualities.

Lol get your definitions straight.
It wasn't a great game but a solid game. Missed a few throws and made one bad throw. Boo hoo.
I'm way more concerned with our run game and the penalties.
he led us to a win on the road.... for now.. i am happy with that., plus i note his wide outs did him no favors.

Cry about him as much as you want, but Garoppolo is still 9-2 in his career.

The most noticeable bad throws I saw yesterday were:
1. The pick six (obviously)
2. The near interception in enemy territory.
3. The throw a little behind Goodwin that could've been for a big gain (although I still felt it was catchable)
4. The overthrow to Bourne that bounced off his hands. It would've been a sensational catch. It wasn't an easy throw, he had to get it over the middle of the field LB/traffic. So, to be fair to both players, it was a tough play.
Considering the game as a whole and the the multiple plays called back (his long run and two TDs), I'd grade his game as "OK". You give him back those plays and Jimmy's game starts to look above average, despite the miscues. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible. Looking at the circumstances as a whole, I think our penalties, struggles to run the ball and the surprisingly subpar playcalling were frustrating factors that hurt Jimmy. We frequently had 3rd and 15+ situations where he got blitzed every time and we threw the obvious and predictable screens too often. I'm being patient, because I think we will see improvement from Jimmy as the season progresses.
