If Jimmy is non-functional vs KC, do we trot him out there week one? I know it's a big if... and he didn't have his full compliment of weapons and protection, but he wasn't up to task mentally. He also has that restrictive knee brace on.

With McKinnon we are super cautious... With Jimmy they want him to play week one, but didn't play him the first preseason game. He got limited time last night and looked atrocious. Dude needs extended playing time to catch up to game speed... but, another stinker, and what do we do? This team can't go 4-12 and have a wasted year waiting for Jimmy to get right.

I'm not optimistic that he can turn it around by Saturday, but I hope I'm wrong. Man, that was rough and really solidified the reports on his struggles in camp

I think he has to play week 1 no matter what. Even if it means a run-heavy game plan with only 12-15 pass attempts. He needs to go through an entire meaningful game, take some hits, and walk off the field in one piece. That is as important as him "looking good."

You said nothing wrong. I just dont prefer to view the team the way you do. I think the facts say that he hasn't thrown in one year in a real game, and that is a great DLine that they played against. Von Miller and chub aren't Ian Williams or demarcus Dobbs. Also we didnt play a lot of our starting pass catchers or starting defenders. Also its preseason. So you can look at it half full or half empty. You can scare yourself silly or you can enjoy the fact that he's back and that our defense looks great. Up to you.
i think just saying, its only pre season and denver has a good defense is nothing but denial and deflection to a serious issue on our team . you could also call it sweeping it under the rug. its up to you

Yeah, says the guy who was convinced we couldn't sign Jimmy to a long term contract. Yeah I tried back then to help you look at it realistically, it didnt work then, so why bother now.
sure,. i was wrong about that. so what.. i was not wrong about our pass protection woes last year or so far this year. last year at this time. many were saying. the offensive line is not as bad as the chicken littles are saying. well no matter the qb last year we saw it was. so one year later the same things by the overly optimistic homers are being said. its only pre season. we are vanilla. denver has a good defense etc etc

It's not a question of right or wrong. Remember, I said you *didn't say anything wrong.* It's just looking at it negatively. Again, nothing wrong with that, but go ahead and scare yourself silly if you enjoy that. Personally, I'm not going out of my way to ruin my own day, thank you very much.

i am having a fine day.. you can be legit concerned about our line., a titch worried about jimmy and still have a fine day

It's true, some people do thrive on negativity. Seems to be working for you and others. Whatever makes you smile!

he's always been the #1 pessimist of the zone

What about his footwork? Half his throws, he didn't have any space to step into because the blitzer was hitting him.
More words have never been written about just 6 passes in the preseason.

Looked slow, not on the balls of his feet, not stepping up into a pocket. Things like that. I think it's probably a non factor though just like his stat line last night.

yea seriously, can we look at the bigger picture?

footwork/sliding in the pocket
how was he before taking a hit
how was he after getting up

im more worried about his footwork and movement than how many balls he completed. who cares. i really hope the coaching staff calls some boot-action or something to get his feet underneath him again. what's more important is how he's moving around, and his mentality

I've been harping on this... Kyle's attitude toward the preseason did JG and the offense no favors. Players always need to execute but it was obvious from the start that Denver came out fired up while the offense looked like it was going through the motions. No reason to panic till KC, if there is a repeat performance then we got some real issues. Looking at the history of the game and horrific preseasons it's just so hard for me to really care about a bad showing.... see the 2011 niners or even look at Peyton Mannings colts in preseason; they would go 0-4 and people would speculate that he lost it, he's too old, whats happened to Manning? Only for them to roll most teams come regular season.

On the flipside look at how good we thought we would be during Singletary's preseasons... having the top preseason rushers that did nothing in the NFL, LB's that looked like they would be stars only to not even make the roster and so on and so forth. Sh*t remember when the god king Tolzeign or however you spell that was the best QB on this roster during preseason? Just hard to really care when there is example after example of preseason meaning very little in the scheme of things.
Oline didn't do him any favors.
