Why would a man who is sexually attracted to another man need help?

My primary point was the level of obsession with his looks, not their homosexual tendencies..

Personally, I couldn't care less if Jimmy G looked like Sloth from the Goonies or the Greek god Adonis, himself.

The Sloth from the goonies was a good Bay Area player....

Had it not been for the drugs, he could have ended up a niner at some point....

I'll settle for childhood 80's icon, over a 3 year NFL stint as a practice squad player.

Dude was the #1 pick in the NFL draft.

He was a pass rushing beast for the Raiders but played in an era before sacks were recorded.

The SusReigns of the world need to read and acknowledge.

The HUGE up front money makes a ton of sense for both JG and the team - he gets paid and the Niners aren't as strapped going forward, leaving a lot of room for future signings.

DO IT.

The 49ers and Garoppolo should agree to a deal worth $130 million over the next five seasons, with $80 million in guaranteed money and $60 million given up front as a signing bonus.

That 60mil signing bonus going to count against the cap, spread out the 5 years, at 12mil a year. If Jimmy is some how off the team, that's 12mil of dead money a year. That 12mil a year counts against the cap whether Jimmy is on or off the team.

Where's the 'saving' the article is talking about...?

There should be a balance in the guaranteed money between signing bonus and roster bonus.

Wow, great article. I wasn't aware that Rodgers was also getting a new deal this off season, holy crap that will tilt the QBs salaries to an even higher level.

Yeah the sooner his deal is done the better for the team. One great thing though, with all this cap space we are still in a good position even going forward for several years, we just need to resign our biggest pending FAs as each one comes up.

Thanks for the link

The up front money is pro-rated over 5 years? I was not aware. Even so, with an ever rising cap, that seems like a reasonable gamble.

Savings in not franchising him 1,2, or even 3 years.

I think some are confusing roster bonus with signing bonus. Roster bonus counts against the cap for only that year. This is why you would read news about team having to decide whether to cut the player or accept the player by roster bonus date.
Quarterbacks are overpaid..
